Hello All

Just wanted to gauge opinion of my fellow bravo/brava owners of what my next car should be.

The car will be a brand new car and max budget is 21k (20k really) please no comments about, i'd never buy a new car, you lose too much money etc.

Voting will work like this, below is a list of cars, simply put the make name that you would go for, i.e vw would be for the golf gti etc. You can also mention a potencial other car that you would get at the same budget, brand new, has to be quick, can't be higher than ins grp 18.

Mazda 3 MPS: http://www.mazda.co.uk/Showroom/ComingSoon/Mazda3MPS/

VW Golf GTi: http://www.vw.co.uk/new_cars/golf_gti

Volvo C30 T5 (220bhp): http://www.volvocars.co.uk/campaigns/MY07/C30/ParisPhase1/C30Paris.htm

Ford Focus ST: http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/-/foc_st/-/-/867819/

Skoda Octavia VRS: http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/content/whatsnew/octaviavrs.aspx

Vauxhall Astra VXR:http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/vxfilter/vxfilter.do?method=getBodyStylesList&brandName=Astra&brandId=622&trimName=VXR&trimLevelId=593&source=S&scope=S&dualFuelIndicator=N&carVanIndicator=C&vehicleType=C

Renault Megane 225: http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/megane225

As you may know some of these cars are out and some will be out in 3-6mths

Thanks for voting and your car suggestions!!!

Golf GTI - Attention to detail is incredible.

Focus ST - Lovely 5 pot rumble.

I would vote for either of those two.

SEX...I'm just two women short of a Threesome

Well, here's my £0.02.

Mazda - Seriously quick if it's anything like the Mazda 6 MPS that tore a hole in the space/time continuum on the A134 the other week as it over took me ! But, it's butt ugly :(

VW - Baaa.... Baaaa... Sheep ;)

Volvo - Again, probably very quick, but uglier than Jade Goody !

Focus - Ford show FIAT exactly what to do with a 5 cylinder engine. Not a visual stunner, but better than those above. The Volvo engine performs as good as it sounds.

Skoda - Wolf in sheeps clothing, but I hate the interiors

Astra - I never thought Vauxhall would make a car that looked good (The Monaro is a Holden !) but this is pretty sweet. If it can put the power down better than the Vectra VXR, then it should be brilliant.

Megane - Gorgeous to look at and very quick but build quality isn't great.

So my Top 3 would be:

1. Focus
2. Astra
3. Megane

At a push, the Mazda.

Trust me, no one is as surprised as me at that choice.

this is what i would get for 20k, time and time again, and yes its even a diesel which i hate, but i still would have it :)

not too sure what insurance group it is, but the highest shown is group 19, so that would be the 3.2 v6 jobbie (which with some seaching you may find for your 20 - 21 k)

@ andy sx, i did have an order for an alfa gt diesel from autolusso (was smartalfa) but it fell through coz there a bunch of lieing retards!!!! nuff said

plus want something quicker

I think i'm holding out for the volvo, heres some more flattering pics: http://www.channel4.com/4car/gallery/concepts/V/volvo/c30-design-concept/index.html it will also have the 5 pot rumble so to speak (it is there engine!!)

but i'm sick of waiting, was gunna get the megane as the cheap option

re

Out of the list, probably Focus ST, then Mazda,

I'd say a brand new Scooby WRX for under 20k for non sti one!

but they are insurance group 20 :(

The Volvo for me - whichever way you look at it, it's either new and different to the rest, or a revival of a classic ;)

The Focus ST looks good on paper, but in the metal it looks like it's been Max-Power'ed with the cr*ppy silver plastic bits. Also, I must have seen five or six this weekend and I kid you not, ALL being driven by middle-aged women - It's the new Scooby LOL !

Im with our friend mr clarkson on this one.
Has to be the focus.

volvo

I am keen on the volvo in that it will essentially be the focus st but abit more sophisticated.....but still goes really well!!!

I was looking at the WRX, they are more subtly styled than before but the ins grp 20 is a killer, i can't get above grp 18 at all, so its a no no i'm afriad

re

i dont think there under 20k or under insurnce group 20, but i think the new Legacy 3.0 saloon is an awesome lookign car?

1st: Focus Sanitary Towel for me please.
2nd: Golf..
3rd: Ashamedly the Mazda..

on autotrader there's an alfa brera for £22K. I know it's not on the list of options but it should be, it's the choice I would make.

id agree with Andy_sx,
or look at a brera as said above, saw another one last nite in black, absolutley stunning, IMO theres nothing this side of a Aston Martin thats better looking than a Brera, but that is my opinion.

whens the new Civic Type R concoction out and how much will that be? that looks nice from the few pics iv seen, plus its a honda

just answering my own questions

"Honda Civic Type R goes on sale in March 2007 in the UK"

errmmm? not to sure about the back end. looks really heavy

The current Honda Civic reminds me of that annoying kid at school that had to be radically different (coloured hair, wild uniform, swore loads and listened to any music that everyone else didn't) from everyone else, just to get the attention. Some people fell for it and thought it was really cool, but many saw through the hideous charade and realised it was all a show ;)
