yeah... I've found this out already when I forgot that the dual carriageway goes from a 70 to a 40 and then let everybody know that I'd forgot by my 500 telling all and sundry that I can't drive....

He he glad my GP doesn't do that i know the Clio's do the same when some muppet didn't see me on a zebra crossing a few months or so ago..

I can see the point of the system though however flashing your hazards to warn people is Technically Illegal except on a Motorway or Dual carriageway..

Sorry dave... Pete's not poofy

Is it? I think its a good Idea though. I'd rather the car I follow do it rather than not! The new Vauxhall Corsa flashes its brake lights 5 times a sec when ABS has been activated according to the brochure. That I'd like to see!

You as well?! Bloody Land Rovers. Look what I narrowly avoided:

Van was behind me. Discovery was coming the other way on a tight bend quite sideways.

Why is the Disco's plate blocked and the vans not? Hope no-one was hurt!

Hazard warning lights. These may be used when your vehicle is stationary, to warn that it is temporarily obstructing traffic. Never use them as an excuse for dangerous or illegal parking. You MUST NOT use hazard warning lights while driving or being towed unless you are on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you of a hazard or obstruction ahead. Only use them for long enough to ensure that your warning has been observed.

and yes i'd like to see the light show the new corsa puts on as it fails to go round a bend :D

Hell's ********, that's not pretty. Was the Disco on two wheels when it came round that corner?

The Sprinter looks to have taken the impact well, I bet the driver had a brown trousers moment but there's no significant intrusion into the cab area.. even the windscreen's intact. Pretty impressive after being hit by an out of control 4 x 4. We have a Sprinter as our works van, not that I drive it often but it's still reassuring to see they can take a knock.

Glad that you managed to see this in the rear view mirror.. Disco vs. Panda doesn't bear thinking about..

Cheers,

Plug

I edited out the Landy's plate just to play it safe (one Disco write-off, one cloned plate I thought as well as legality, I'm sure leaving it would be fine but you know), forgot to do the van but seeing as he's an innocent party (as far as I am aware) it shouldn't be a problem.

When I first saw the Disco it was oversteering in a clockwise direction, but she was correcting it. Think she swiped the van as it snapped back into grip and it landed on its side. Not sure, I only saw the event leading to it and not the event itself.

There was a Volvo in front which I flashed before I reversed back to the scene, he appeared soon after and grabbed the kids and Discovery driver and sat them in his car. He had NHS gear on and probably worked at the hospital that is a 30 second drive from the collision. Because they were doing their own thing I stood and chatted to the van driver for a bit, made sure he was ok, he was on the phone when I first got there and I thought he was calling the ambulance but it turned out he was calling work to tell them what happened. He was annoyed as he finished work in an hour. The Sprinter took it well though, I'd estimate the Disco was doing around 40 mph on impact, the van somewhere between 30 and 40, certainly the Disco was much worse off, though it was on an N plate if I remember correctly.

Not a nice thought what could've happened if it hit me but I do wonder how I'd have reacted if it did happen.

Well if it were me, if I even had enough time to react, it would have been 'S*&T, and a very quick swerve of the wheel if possible.

Would you have said she was driving dangerously or it was a genuine accident? Looking at the Disco it rolled?!?
