May sound dumb but after changing my cambelt today I wanted to do an oil flush.
The sump doesn't have a bolt but seems to have a large Alan key hole instead?
Is it an Alan key? If so any one know the size.
Thanks as always

Watch how the car is supported. They need a big sideways pull to loosen and the car can easily fall off stands and jacks.

Thanks for the heads up.
Luckily I'm a small guy and can easily fit under without jacking it up. Only problem I'll have is the filter as it's in an awkward spot and don't have a special tool for it.

I end up pulling from outside the drivers wheel at full left lock. The bigger problem is the ratchet is too long and hits the floor at the ideal pulling angle.

oil filter can be removed easily without proper tools, just hammer a screwdriver through it on the far end of filter not where it screws to the block but other side and undo, its messy but works

Good tip, thank you!
Once I find my 12mm tomorrow from halfords I'll let you know how it worked

I wonder if Fisko has done that job while being under a car? :)

I have used a screwdriver a few times from on top and you get totally covered in oil by the time the filter is off. Underneath it will be running down to your elbows and just pretty yucky altogether. :yuck: (n)
:yeahthat:
Also the metal can on many modern filters is so thin that it can tear before loosening. Sometimes tapping chordwise on the rolled seam close to the seal with a blunt cold chisel or old screwdriver will loosen an tight one.

yea i was under car, you need to make a hole in filter and wait a little for it to drip then remove it
