Hi guys,

I'm suspecting that the oil sensor is dying or the connectors are having bad contact problems.

The issue is that when rotating the key in the morning, the oil indication that is displayed on the clock shows empty even though it has plenty of oil.

With the engine hot the indication apears to be normal again.

My question for you guys is where can i find this oil sensor so i can check it's connections and see if i have a bad sensor that needs to be replaced or bad wire connections.

Thanks

Regards
Rui

Whenever i rotate the key to start the car, the oil indication comes up on the clock display for a few seconds.

I made a small video showing this:

[ame]https://youtu.be/SzfJQTbho2M[/ame]

In the video you can see that when cold, the oil level changes and a few miles ahead, with the engine hot, the oil level displayed is then normal.

When cold, i often get no oil in this display but no oil warning light.

This is why i need to check the sensor and/or connections but i dont know where are located.

Regards
Rui

These oil level sensors use a hot wire in the sump. If the wire is in oil it does not heat up much and it's resistance does not change much. Wire in air heats up more with a bigger change in resistance. Heating requires current so a bad connetion is likely. Location is behind dipstick tube see,

It's the green plug.

Greetings g8rpi,

thank you so much for the information.

Will check the connection and sensor.
