I've noticed that my 1800 twin cam (124 Sport) is using a bit of oil, probably more than usual.
About half a litre every 500 kms.
Engine was re-built 12 years ago and has done very minimal mileage in the meantime. I've had the car 5 years and barely do on 5000kms a year.
Previous owner just had it as a "garage queen".
I don't want to re-build the engine as it has loads of power and doesn't blow any visible smoke.
I'm suspecting the valve stem seals have probably dried up due to lack of use or possibly even glazed cylinders.
Are there any good oil additives that anyone has uses and can recommend to slow the oil consumption down or stop it?
BTW Should mention that I'm using a 20w/60 Penrite Oil
