You know for a fact or just making assumptions?I think that quality of sound not so good in phone mode.

That's the easy way.
Given up on this. You don't realise until you put a half-decent head unit in how much better the sound quality it, tone, depth, clarity, functionality.
You're honestly better of spending £50 on a basic MP3 unit from a decent manufacturer (JVC, Sony, Pioneer) in the Halfords or Argos sale, and buying a fascia and adapter off ebay for a tenner. The improved sound quality is immeasurable, even with the original speakers, any you can easily get something with line in for £50.
I did this recently, put my old Sony bluetooth head unit in, should have done it a year ago. Also got £70 for the original head unit on ebay, so it could be it turns out to be a zero cost upgrade if you spend around £70 on a head unit and fascia.

Until I got the money to buy the HU I want this is what I need. Our radio stations suck and I hate changing CDs while driving...
In that case get an FM transmitter. I've got a nexxus drivestyle pro which worked well.

As for the CDC line in C15 and C16 must be short circuited after that the CD mode will be silent with no background noise with that perhaps the CDC left and right could be used to input sound from other sources.
So, normal RCA to 3.5mm plug cable should suffice. Left and right to their corresponding pins with both channels earting shorted and plugged to C18. And a switch to short circuit C15 and C16.
As you are not capable to use the real CDC interface to control your iPod/iPhone or others you just need to "open" the line input.
What did you try?If someone tries this, please write here does it work. I tried and it doesn't work on my HU.
Yes, I tried to connect C15 and C16 and I could not enter in CDC mode. I think that this only workr on old Bravo/ Brava HU.What did you try?
Connect C15 and C16, audio channels correctly and grounding as the manual says?
It will never enter CDC mode without intelligence between the HU and input source.Yes, I tried to connect C15 and C16 and I could not enter in CDC mode. I think that this only workr on old Bravo/ Brava HU.
Yes, I didn't connect stereo cable to source of sound but when I connect pin 15 and pin 16, I press SRC button, CD start to play and I can hear sound from CD not the silence as you said.
I didn't connect pins with short circuit. I connect pins with 12V examiner with light. Maybe that is the reason of no CDC mode. When you did it what was write on display? Can you connect mp3 player or mobile phone to HU and see would it work?
