O2 down

Kinda surprised no one else has mentioned this yet?

Gone for me since this afternoon, huge thread on digitalspy and it's on the BBC news site as well.

Just making people aware in case you have been trying to contact anyone on O2.

I'm on giffgaff (which runs off the o2 network) & I've not had any problems - looking at my call history, I've made a dozen since I got in at half six.

Yeah, it seems to be ok for some and not for others.

Even two people in the same room, on the same network cell.

I'm on o2 and fine, mum's on o2 and fine, girlfriend is on giffgaff (o2) and dead.

Mother and I (O2 & GiffGaff respectively) have had outages all afternoon...although, I could still use Google Talk with what appeared to be no signal...

My Sister has had no problems (O2)

3 here all on o2 1 came back, then other came back, one still not come back. probably was no thread earlier as most affected by it only use forum by phone

I got 2 mobiles on 02, missus has 1 on 02 and 1 on Orange.

Both my 02 mobiles have been unaffected but the missus's 02 mobile went off around 1pm and is still off(midnight).

So that explains why my phone was beeping its knackers off at 3am with the three facebook messages sent at 9pm. It very got launched for that

Its to do with number being unable to register on the network. I am assuming they had server outage in a DC somewhere which registered a set of numbers.

Mine was fine yesterday but now can only get 3G, yay for iMessages!

Missus's O2 phone is workin now so I guess everyone will be back online soon.

They said their 2G network as backup as of 08:00 GMT today, with the quicker data networks to follow later.
