With the warm weather of late I've had the air con on (auto) constantly and have noticed a noise when not accelerating. It sounds as if the pump may have a clutch which disengages when the accelerator is not pressed. I've heard other cars making similar noises but not one I've owned personally. It's not a loud noise and certainly doesn't sound like an imminent failure. Slightly metallic rattle is all I can think to describe it. Have definitely pined it down to the air con as the sound disappears when it's switched off. Sounds like a bearing on the way out to me but may just be a characteristic of the pump. Anyone know what I'm on about?

Humm. Only makes this noise when not under load. Guess I'll keep an eye on it to see if it gets any worse.

Glad to hear it LMR. Will get it checked out next service before the warranty runs out though.

PLEASE stop posting a thread for every single issue. Just post one thread and post all your issues/q's in there.

That's a fair comment but seperate threads are easier to find/read when someone searches in the future.

You're quite right. In fact I've been on other forums where I've been told exactly the opposite otherwise the same questions get asked repeadedly in the future as you can't find them easily in a search of topics. Still glad to be getting replies though so thanks for that.

I'm sorry but that only makes sense if you only search the thread title and very few forums do that.
