General Next Panda Adventure......

It's alright for you lot, once Jim gets home we're going to have to listen to his tales for the next 6 months while he's trying to talk me into this floating Panda carry on again.

Starting with a talk about his trip to the NIIMC members at Septembers meeting. !

:) my mum belongs to the
W.I. near Cambridge ,maybe they'd like to listen to jims 'tour talk' .that might keep him out of your hair for another week or so ....
anyway i thought the floating panda was a great idea :D
if it sinks we could send sprox in , he's a deep sea diver apparently :D !lol

Wow.. I'm now one viewing ahead of the ebay thread:D

So, what's been happening in the last 24 hrs?

Well I went down to reception to check out and chase my bill and this woman is looking at me 'funny' and she says 'Jim?' and I look at her and she jumps in 'I bought a phone off you in Ballymena last year... I'm Mrs Gutherie, your P3 teacher, remember?'

So cause I was chatting I missed the transfer bus, so I plonked my ass down and waited on the next one to Newark where I could transfer to JFK. Soon realized that most of the people with me where British so we started chatting about holidays and hotels (Apparently don't what ever you do say in the mid town Manhattan 'Holiday Inn') so the lady next to me who was from Bristol asked what I did when I was here....

Well, I started to go over the bit about little old ladies and their pandas and the Sahara and america and 3rd best fiat in the USA and racing and corn and Oregon and winning more stuff and San Francisco and Death Valley...

Then I realized that it had got very quite on the bus as the whole lot of them where hanging on every word:D

Got a round of applause when I got off thou:p

Anyway a couple of buses more and I was at JFK battling the crowds of people trying to get a plane (or find a bin to dump they're soft drinks in.. One or the other!)

Some people where having real problems.. The guy on the end was in New York but all his bags (including the stuff he needed for work) was in Chicago on a different plane. Cause he was so late the hotel gave his room to someone else and the transfer company where giving him a hard time cause the car they sent out about 5 times to get him couldn't find him... I told him there was this panda he could use!

he's the one in the blue shirt, on the phone looking stressed... BTW, the guy in the yellow shirt is some dutch footballer who plays in the 'Casino League' (well, I think thats what he said.. In between telling me all he needed in life was his passport and his brazilian football boots)

God, hangin in airports is more exciting than Eastenders!

That's the plane... They're a bit crap inside but Aer Lingus staff are really nice but when they come round wanting to know if you want a cup of tea they are a bit 'Mrs Doyle':D
(Ya, will, Ya, will, Ya will..... )

So at 5 am Alan turned up at Dublin airport to get me in the Kangoo... God, it was weird getting in to it after being in nothing but Sylvia for the last 5 weeks. Even weirder was driving on the 'wrong' side of the road:eek:

No it's not my house, but it's across the road from McDonnells this morning...

So all we have to do now is wait on Sylvia getting here..

I went to try and find her before I left the yard on Friday but they'd moved her to the back of this lot somewhere...

If you look closely there is a mini, a landie and a fiat 500 in that row at the end... Bizarrely there's also what looks like a bird bath there too....

I'm away to find a dark room to curl up and die in!

well that's America done... i'll startlooking for the snowchains for the cross Antartic trip shall I?

well done Jim I bet Alan is releived you managed to get on the plane nevermind drive across the states.

Do you know I don't actually have a panda to drive now?

So that means that I can't even write about adventures to Tescos:(

1. 1987 4x4 - In bits in the garage awaiting paint
2. 1995 Selecta - In bits at the bottom of the garden
3. 1989 750 - At Stuarts till he gets his Novo Panda delivered
4. 1991 Super - 3475 miles away in New York

I'd have to say that out of those 4 reasons not to be able to drive a panda, reason 4 would probably be unique:D

I dont' think a Fiat 500 or a Ferrari 308 would really cut in in rush hour motorway traffic into Belfast in mornings:p

The 127 is in bits and his missus would kill him if he took her grande punto:D
