New young driver please help?

i just bought my car insurance today, google bewise car insurance, they are an independant insurance brokerage, the are underwritten by Aviva, and they quoted £2250 all mods declared, thats lowered, window tints (front and back) alloys, de badged, tinted lights and any I.C.E i want, aslong as i declare how much it is worth to them, and provide them with proof of purchase.

:) let them quote you £6000 then ring them up and telll them you have got it for £1500 thats when they phoned me back 30 minutes later saying that they have lowered it to £2000, i declared mods, and it rose too £2250..

Worth a try mate!
oh and that fully comp :)

Oh i drive a Mk2 1.2 punto! :) just to let you knoww

Good luck mate

Surely it seems dodgy if you say you can get it for £1500 then go with them who are £750 more?

ive just had a look on that bewise car insurance and it says that they dont insure any modifications so what did you do there?

When I passed my test I found that Admiral and Elephant were by far the cheapest (alternated between the two every year) and 8 years on I have never been insured by anyone else... in fact no-one ever seems to come close to their price quoted for me for some reason?! You could also try Bell and Diamond (who do insure men as well as women) as all of these companies are owned by the same parent company.

Thanks people. Gonna ring up all of the companies that yous suggested.
Ill let you know what prices i get :) (yn)

One of my mates is insured by a Russian insurance company... He's covered for third party... It's the cheapest insurance for our age.

Unfortunatly I've been having the same problem as you, I've been driving now for 9 months surprisingly and for the first 5 of those I was insured on my own policy with Quinns. Paying £150 monthly weren't too bad untill I lost my job.

Now im... well I wouldn't say fronting, just using my brain and paying £40.00 Monthly.

My mother drives the car just as much.. or sometimes more than me so it's perfectly legal and legitimate but for us young drivers... FRONTING IS THE ONLY WAY. People say being young... you can do what you want and tbh have a care free life untill you settle down into a job and get married etc... I say BS  I've had debt collecting agencys come knocking on my door saying I owe Quinn Direct £285. I faught this over the phone and they sent me a piece of paper saying I was insured for 10 months. When I had only paid for 5 months... So they basically owed me money. Stupid Irish insurance companys can't add up.

If you want my advice. Front the insurance policy but get someone else to drive the car often enough for it not to be so illegal. But then again... fronting insurance isn't so bad, insurance companys charge what the hell they like for young drivers simply because they can... It's daylight robbery.

Either way you look at it... £450 ++ a month for insurance to drive a FIAT is not bloody worth it. I went through a phase where I was thinking of getting a motorbike license because insurance and fuel costs are cheaper.

Either way you look at it... theres no right or wrong way of doing this.

You get bummed up the bottom either way

If your driving it more than her, make sure you are the named driver, as stated before

Going on your dads insurance instead of yours is fronting if your driving it more than him. I would suggest maybe if you want to build up no claims, go for a company that gives named drivers a NCB to be used with them.

Then when you get your own policy you can use the same company for the first year and use that no claims to your advantage.

Going on parents will be cheaper if they drive it more than you, and then in a few years time you will be able to get your own one.

Once again, if your going to drive it more than him, then you are fronting which is similar if not worse than driving with no insurance.

I find it interesting how people think they can get away with fronting. do they not know about computers and how insurance companies share all their info?
Not only that but the MOT is now computerised so when dad takes his car for test & it shows he's done xxk miles this past year and then you take his other car for MOT & that also shows he's done xxk miles - how is that going to be explained when his job is a couple of miles away & no business cover on either policy because it isn't used at work...

Over the years, people have been making fraudulent claims because the insurers can afford it & they want to get rich quick, now it is the turn of the insurers to get some repayment.
They will happily take your cash but the instant you claim they'll be rubbing their hands with glee because they'll have you bang to rights for insurance fraud - and as these companies share info, both you and dad/mum/whoever will be paying a very high price for that fronting for many, many years to come.
