Sorry for going off topic but do you happen to know if there is a way to upgrade the headunit on the Lounge model? Mine has got satnav and other bells and whistles and I am looking to replace it but all I can find about it is that regular units won't work in my car... Cheers!

Hello! This is of interest to me as I am thinking of buying a 2018 Tipo estate. It's fairly cheap, and, I am a cheapskate!
Anyway, the car has the little screen and I would like to upgrade it to a bigger screen. Reading your tales on here, puts me off a bit. I did have success when I used "Incartec" stuff when fitting different DAB stereos to Saab 9-5's a while ago. Other firms advertised equivilants that didn't work. I am NOT a car wiring type of chap BTW!!
What might put me off if Tipo's are as awkward as 9-5's when it comes to ICE new stuff, I might wait for a cheap later Tipo to turn up for sale....
The 9-5 radio cost whatever they cost, then you have to add probably nearly as much again for fitting looms, SWC control boxes, aerials, fitting surround frames , interfaces, patch leads etc..
Enough of me wobbling on. Hope this might help someone!

@berlinasportiva - what do you think of this one? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007288637114.html? £334.79 for the 2k 8GB 256GB 360 DVR model. Pics show it replacing the bigger Tipo model, wonder if it will also replace the little one that I have.....

I've lost virtually all radio channels - DAB is very, very irregular. FM has become much poorer over the last couple of years and although I know there's not much on MW anymore - I can't pick up anything at all.
I took it to a specialist car audio place hoping they'd replace that base unit but they didn't think that was the problem and said they thought something else was going on - maybe to do with an amplifier? They said they'd get back to me when they had more information but haven't so I'm just to swap the base out myself which is probably what I should have attempted in the first place!
Did you get the dab working again after changing the base?

Great news! Have you come across any issues at all? Are all car settings accessible on this unit? Rear view camera working? How's the sound quality? I know with some of these Chinese radios a big problem is the responsiveness, how's this one, is it lagging when going through stuff on the screen? Cheers bro!

So far:
Good amount of memory, acceptable responsiveness, sound quality can’t tell got external amp, car settings didn’t get that far yet. Works with reverse camera though
Glad you have found a radio that works. My car didn't come with factory fitted reverse camera. If I bought one and plugged it in to this radio do you think it will work or need to see fiat to have it enabled?

Encouraged by @berlinasportiva comment I went ahead and ordered one lol Should be with me Saturday/Sunday if all goes well. Will report back if he doesn't.

good luck. A lot depends on what are you upgrading from and your car config. Which one did you go for?
I literally went for the exact one you linked. Right now I have the stock Uconnect 5 with sat nav (the small one not the tablet version). Tipo lounge 1.6 petrol automatic. Let's see, bought it through amazon so worst case scenario I'll just return it
