To be fair, that is a pretty big deal.....
It is a big deal, but it's always going to be a 3 way fight with Android and iOSTo be fair, that is a pretty big deal.....
Seriously, are you in love with your phone or something? WP7 is good, I love mine and would gladly have another, but it's not a one size fits all OS and it doesn't suit everyone.
To be fair, that is a pretty big deal.....
Linux user base is tiny compared to Windows. Android will go the same way IMO.
Android is already outselling iOS in some markets so you're dreaming if you think that.
What O/S do Ericsson phones use?
Android mainlyWhat O/S do Ericsson phones use?
At the end of the day, it's going to come down to add-on software.
If Windows Phone gets a load of good quality developers onboard and builds up the marketplace, then they stand a very good chance.
Joe public with Windows at home will also be swayed I think.
The problem is that Joe Public is a moron and his mate down at the pub who has an iPhone has more influence over what he buys than how good a mobile OS is or whether it's made by Microsoft with hardware by Nokia.
It would be nice to think that in one movement Nokia and Microsoft have just cornered the whole market and the death bells are ringing for Android and iOS. Anyone who thinks that Android or iOS are going away anytime soon needs to reconsider their opinion.....
I say the above as a big Microsoft fanboi, both our PC's at home run Windows 7, I'm running the WHS 2011 beta on another PC, I have a WP7 phone and Blue&Me in the 500 is a Microsoft product....... but basically I don't see this doing anything more than merely bringing Microsoft and Nokia level with their competitors within the next 2 years. What is good is that this shows that Microsoft are now committed to the Windows Phone OS. The fact that WP7 still doesn't have proper multitasking is a bit of a joke tbh.....
Wow, you really are delusional. The problem is there are more Nokia devices and Microsoft software out there than anything else so if Joe Public, morons or not, has a phone or software to give an opinion on it will most likely be Nokia or Microsoft not iOS or Android.
Ring ring, ring ring, ring ring.
Microsoft and Nokia already massively out sell their competitors.
In the next 2 years Windows Phone will be the market leader and in less than 5 years you'll see it being copied.
Just because there are more nokia phones out there and loads of people use Windows doesn't necessarily mean that people will buy Nokia WP7 devices. It's assumptions like that that have put Nokia and Microsoft in the position they're in with regards to the mobile market.
The problem is that Joe Public is a moron and his mate down at the pub who has an iPhone has more influence over what he buys than how good a mobile OS is or whether it's made by Microsoft with hardware by Nokia.
Erm, hang on a minute, remember this?
So the rules change if the morons down the pub have iPhones and not Nokia or Sony Ericsson?
I think its you who is confused/delusional.
Enough said me thinks.
The other issue Microsoft have are its licensing fees. All the cheaper phones will stick with Android as it's free.
