Seriously, are you in love with your phone or something? WP7 is good, I love mine and would gladly have another, but it's not a one size fits all OS and it doesn't suit everyone.

Yeh, I sleep with it stuffed down my boxers.

To be fair, that is a pretty big deal.....

The worlds biggest mobile phone producer and the worlds biggest software producer joining forces, yeh I'd say its a big deal, bye bye Android. ;)

Bye bye Android? Hardly......

I'm a WP7 fanboi, and I love Nokia, but the idea that this is just going to wipe Android off the face of the earth is delusional. The interface of WP7 is fantastic and easily the best out there, but you're dealing with a market which is conditioned towards the tiled interface of iOS and Android.

Most are Symbian like the Vivas Pro but they are moving towards Android. They're not likely to use Windows Phone but you never know.

Edit
Though we haven’t seen anything Winpho7 from Sony Ericsson yet, sources say that the company is preparing Windows phones alongside its future Android additions.

Oded Ran, Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 man in the UK, has confirmed that Sony Ericsson is working on a Windows Phone 7 device.

At the end of the day, it's going to come down to add-on software.

If Windows Phone gets a load of good quality developers onboard and builds up the marketplace, then they stand a very good chance.

Joe public with Windows at home will also be swayed I think.

The problem is that Joe Public is a moron and his mate down at the pub who has an iPhone has more influence over what he buys than how good a mobile OS is or whether it's made by Microsoft with hardware by Nokia.

It would be nice to think that in one movement Nokia and Microsoft have just cornered the whole market and the death bells are ringing for Android and iOS. Anyone who thinks that Android or iOS are going away anytime soon needs to reconsider their opinion.....

I say the above as a big Microsoft fanboi, both our PC's at home run Windows 7, I'm running the WHS 2011 beta on another PC, I have a WP7 phone and Blue&Me in the 500 is a Microsoft product....... but basically I don't see this doing anything more than merely bringing Microsoft and Nokia level with their competitors within the next 2 years. What is good is that this shows that Microsoft are now committed to the Windows Phone OS. The fact that WP7 still doesn't have proper multitasking is a bit of a joke tbh.....

Ring ring, ring ring, ring ring.

Microsoft and Nokia already massively out sell their competitors.

In the next 2 years Windows Phone will be the market leader and in less than 5 years you'll see it being copied.

Wow, you really are delusional.

Just because there are more nokia phones out there and loads of people use Windows doesn't necessarily mean that people will buy Nokia WP7 devices. It's assumptions like that that have put Nokia and Microsoft in the position they're in with regards to the mobile market.

You're confusing what should happen with what's happened in the past and what will continue to happen in the future. By all rights Windows Phone 7 should be selling far better than they are, but so far only 2 million licences have been sold which to be fair isn't much and of course this doesn't actually indicate how many actual phones have been sold. Microsoft is terrible when it comes to marketing and even with a good product Microsoft will never kill off Google in the mobile space. Microsoft are the Fiat of mobiles..... they both have good product and they both market them for a couple of months after launch and then stop.

I'll happily bet you £10 that 2 years from today Microsoft will still not be market leaders in terms of market share if you combine the sales of WP7 and WP8 which will probably be out by then.

Erm, hang on a minute, remember this?

So the rules change if the morons down the pub have iPhones and not Nokia or Sony Ericsson? :ROFLMAO:

I think its you who is confused/delusional. :p

Enough said me thinks.

Whatever, you clearly have your view and you're sticking to it regardless of the fact that Android has immense market share and is still growing and the fact that people are happy to pay silly prices for underfeatured Apple hardware and software regardless of what Microsoft have done with WP7.

If you're so sure that Microsoft and Nokia are going to dominate, then do feel free to take me up on my bet :ROFLMAO:
