Ok some things to consider then, definitely feel slightly cornered by the lack off availability but maybe I just want to much lol... The search continues....

To be honest I think I'll go for a normal headunit with aux in usb and pre outs... Then take a.7" tablet running android and the possibilities will be endless only down side.is no dvd but nowadays Netflix ect... Seems cheaper to do this way to and I can do so much more and also upgrade... Not sure how to lay it all out yet but once I've got it all I'll take some pics
I chose the KDC-U7056BT. Cheap at $270 (£137) and appears to do everything I need. http://www.kenwood.com/au/car/receiver/kdc-u7056bt/
Alphabetic search of iPod tracks. Bluetooth and Siri support with external mic. Has sound-quality features (time alignment, lots of equalizer bands). Colour can be varied.
There is also the http://www.kenwood.com/au/car/receiver/kdc-x8019bt/ which looks a little cleaner in design, fewer untidy buttons. It was $120 extra for no extra features (actually had fewer features - no Pandora radio and no Siri support), so I didn't bother.
My Punto Grande already has an aftermarket stereo fitted in Japan, so I only needed something to fill the hole, play from an iPod, and receive phone calls. I don't have any steering wheel buttons but will hopefully fit a different wheel with them later. Kenwood has steering remote support.
