Hi guys
I knew it was coming, my clutch started to slip tonight in 4 and 5th gears when under load.
So as i have been expecting this for the last couple of years its time to bite the bullet and get it changed.
The cars is a 53 jtd multiwagon, the cost of a velo clutch in euros is £158 and the slave cylinder is £50. Im pretty sure the flywheel is ok as its only slipping in the top two gears under load (but i will obviously re asses that when the box is off).
Anyway, i thought i would ask here, i dont really fancy changing it myself this time of year, its been a number of years since i payed anyone to work on my car as i like to get my hands dirty,
could someone give me a ball park figure on the cost of fitting - i dont mind paying £200 but over that i will do it myself
also is there anything else that i need to watch out for when changing the clutch on the jtd, i can do the 1.6 with my eyes closed now but not pulled the box on the jtd.
cheers
roy
