either keep the original headunit and get a compatable changer (there are links aplenty for this topic!) or get an adaptor plate and standard headunit. would be worth getting a unit that's MP3 and DAB compatable.

oh yeah and remember not all headunits will accept the steering wheel remote control

Personally, I think you should not get the OE add-on changer as for similar (if maybe a little more) cost you can get much better sound quality and an overall better unit.

Advice: get the FIAT dash plate (don't bother with anything else, Autoleads or whatever, they all fit rubbish), and have a look around for a good deal. www.caraudiodirect.co.uk always have some offers on.

I've got a Kenwood MP3 headunit (KDC-M4525) in my Marea which I recommend. Autoleads do a wiring thing for it too so the steering controls work (part PC9705 I think). I haven't got that yet thought.

Good luck!

Think a blaupunkt Woodstock is the one to go for, comes with DAB and mp3 support as standard, so no addon devices are needed. can pick them up from bluespot.co.uk for £250 for the 52 model or £300 for the 53 model.
Planning on getting one myself some day, but will continue using my 4 year old kenwood + changer for now
