funny, all the cars in that segment are bound to be similar, or they're out of the segment.
women can't even spot the difference between a bravo, an astra and a megane.

Oh nooooo!! I hate the look of "new age" cars. They all look so crap and tacky with their chromey, swoopy, wacky futuristic looks!

it seems that fiat launch a design shape/look before everyone else, then they loosley follow suit. I mean the Stilo was launched and was labelled a boring design (although i thought differently!) and 24 months later, vauxhall released the astra mk 5 that has similar design cues (only for it to be applauded!!!). same thing with the bravo, the astra 6 is very close in design, to the point im convinced that its a remasked bravo (although im aware its not)

I am a Fiat Bravo owner for 2 years and sometimes I felt as if I was not connected with the car, you know body and soul.I liked the car the way it looks but I never felt connected as if there is something missing. At work I have to drive BMW 1 and 3, Opel Astra, VW Golf 5 and I must say, that whenever I entered my multijet, it felt like coming back home.The car has a few glitches but it is a good looking nice car allround. Perhaps it helps from time to time to drive something else so you can respect and love what you have. If the new Bravo will be like the ones on the pictures... I am in and I want one.:slayer:
I know it is years away, but I like it and I know that Fiat will not disappoint their customers.

God knows why they feel the need to be 'radical'. It's not the looks that stop people buying the current Bravo, it's because Fiat never advertise the sodding thing. Theyre too busy telling everyone about the 500, which we already know about.
If the Bravo had driven just abit better (enough to shut-up the overly biased motoring journalists) & had been advertised consistently with good deals, it would've sold. End of.

It's not the marketing, it's FIAT. Public perception in the UK is poor.
I was a bit offended the other day. My Manager pulled up beside my car at work (in his Merc). I was making a cup of coffee and out of the window I watched him walk around it and have a look. He knew it was mine from my personalised plate. He then came in the office and saw me and said:
'What's happened to you Sav?'
I said, 'What do you mean?'
He said 'You've gone down market, I never imagined you'd drive a FIAT.'
I looked at him totally lost for words, picked up my coffee and retired to my workstation without saying a word. Moreover, I changed from the Alfa last March and he's only just realised! His words have stayed with me since he said it though.
Is this what people really think of FIAT?

Sadly, most people do think that, twincamms.
FIAT's reputation has been tainted due to a slightly grim episode they went through due to some rusty Russian steel they were using which I think made people avoid the company like the plague.
Since then, it would seem that its just generally word of mouth from people that have been simply misinformed of FIAT's legacy, and you'll hear these people saying stuff like "Fix It Again Tomorrow".
This, in my eyes, could not be any more wrong of an opinion to have of FIAT because when I see a FIAT I see affordable quality, glamour and perfection. They may not be the best of their class according to the "experts", but FIAT's have something that other cars don't have... CHARACTER.
I literally laugh at people with boring, monotonous, run-of-the-mill cars such as Golfs and Astra...
We're the REAL drivers and car enthusiasts on the road, guys.
Never let anyone tell you differently.

I wouldnt feel too bad twincamms - to be fair to your boss if you went to a Fiat garage and asked for the smartest car they could sell you then they'd call you a taxi to the nearest Alfa Romeo dealer. Which Alfa did you upgrade from?
Still, doesnt mean that the Bravo isnt a nice car. I think its a shame that despite public perceptions the forefront of the motoring press havent really picked up on it. Any publicity is good publicity, and I dont think either of the two of the UK's main motoring shows (Fifth Gear and the other one) have reviewed it on TV. I disagree, public's view of Fiat has IMO changed over the last 5 years after all fiat survived and improved while others around are/were struggling.
However Fiat will never be a major player in the UK until they get tough with dealers.

helped a work colleague push his 09 VW Golf TDI to the back of the AA van turns out his fuel pump had died or some such thing, yet I still get the old FIAT....ohh year fix it again tomorrow, think there gelous because Bella has the looks and soul and isnt just another repmobile....thats my view on it anyway , loved the car when I first saw it in 2007, just didnt like the 15k price tag

And frankly they would think that, because they have very archaic views if they actually think a Merc is still a quality product. I'd have probably replied 'why did you buy a Merc & not get a much more convincing take on quality, like an Audi or BMW'. But then im a bit*h if someone slates Italian cars near me.
A Merc is a nothing car - not that cheap, not that pretty, not that reliable, not that well built, not that good to drive. It's just for people who want to boast over 'dinner' to their equally clueless frends that they 'drive a Mercedes' (said in stuck up, fake posh accent).
I tried hard to suppress a grin as I drove past a couple of broken down VWs, one of them was a new style Sirrocco
