My blue and me worked with the pen drive of my friend.

Is there any special kind of formating for Mp3 listening??

Does the blue and me need NTFS pendrive, or fat32, or other? Can i format my pen drive in any format?

For NTFS you should change option under device manager for stick Policies from "Optimize for quick removal" -> to "Optimize for performance".

But you don't need do this, because FAT32 is recommanded.

NTFS is useful only if you have files bigger than 4GB, because 4GB is max for FAT32.

I'm going to try quiting all apps before plugging in next time.

Other than that I think it might be a hard re-set on the car...

I've tried all the above for my 3GS with iOS 4.01. Is there any word on a B&M 5.6 update that might correct this?

I downloaded the new 5.5 update yesterday and installed it and everything is working fine with my Nokia N97 and a friend's 5800XM. No problems at all so this update does work fine with some of the newer smartphones.

My iphone 3GS did the same as above when i updated it, finally got it fixed this way:

Hard reset my phone (Hold the home and power button down, still hold it down past the slide to power off screen and keep holding it down when the apple sign appears. release when it's gone.

Turned the phone back on and connected to the car as normal. Now i tried it by plugging it in the car with the power off but had no result, but with the power on it loaded up the media library :slayer:

Woohooo!! Looks like you've just solved my problem! I can now see Artists etc through the dash, which I couldn't before. So far no scratchy fast ending of music, I'll know for sure tomorrow on the journey into work. Thank you!!!

No problem, i'm glad it works for someone else! I havn't plugged my phone back into my PC yet. With the Iphone 4 there is some talk of you having to hard reset the phone to the car again afterwards, but not in a rush to test it with the 3GS:yum:

On my Evo, i have dowloaded it onto my formatted 4gb USB and when it updates in the car it comes up with USB ERROR:10 and won't install! :bang:

Ive tried several USB's that i have (all are less than 8GB; the requirements stated on the download instructions) but each one is the same and an error message comes up even though i have done everything the website says!

Saying that, the car is going into the garage this week so i'll have the service guys to install it for me!

Have you followed the instructions regarding the Update error as that error was mentioned in the notes I followed when I downloaded and installed the update.

Ive done exactly what the instructions have told me. I have noticed that when i have downloaded the files and extracted them to the USB, there is a slight difference on one of the files on the download compared to what it states in the instructions.

On the instructions on Fiats website, it says "...check that the following files are present;

C82S_v11.cab"

yet on my download, I have C82S_v15.cab

All the other files are there so i'm stumped if i'm honest! I only want the update to stop my Blackberry disconnecting!

Quick reset of B&M using the battery off for 10-30 mins trick should sort it.

I'm in the same boat, same error message, and the battery off trick hasn't helped. Any other suggestions?

FWIW, I've installed the "Patch for Sony Phones" without a problem .. though it doesn't help ...

Hey everyone im new here my name is Daphne im from israel. just got my 500 today. and i have the iphone 3gs. i have no idea what version of b&m i have on my 500. but it wont recognise my iphone. i mean it recognise it for 2 second than not than yes than not. really annoying. im trying to upgrade to 5.5 i have an 8 gb usb stick formated it to fat32. but i get on the fiat config error.
can anyone help?

I downloaded it as had problems with player repeating and nokia 5800 so was please to see new update . Installed and got message update completed remove usb.
Nothing worked since.
Radio ok but cant pair phone or use media player.

On menu media player is there at first till I try to select it. then option is gone. USB stick flashes but no playing.
Tried to download again but file missing from website!
Tried to reinstall previous download and get usb 10 error so assume its at correct version.

Popped it into dealer and they installed it and got update complete message with a smug look on his face,but still not working so after bit of head scratching later he decided i need a proxy reset .

Im on my 3rd year so bit annoyed as seems update is cause.
Will report back tomorrow after i pay for the proxy reset

Try updating it using that.

Same usb 10 error.
Proxy reset didnt work.

Dealer said error codes show bus error to convergence unit so will need new unit.
He said will open a case with fiat as 30 months should not the life of a unit.
See what fiat say next week i guess ...

im having trouble updating... i download the update, unzip it and put it onto a formatted memory stick. when i plug the stick in the car, it flashes to show it is inserted but nothing happens.
Im not sure if the car has had any previous updates done to it as i only bought it 2 weeks ago... i was wondering will it need previous updates done first or would the v5.5 contain everything needed to update from say the original version? it is an 06 reg.
