Technical New Battery

My 4x4 TA Panda, new at 2018 and with 10900 miles on the clock now needs a new battery, which I have just ordered from my local (excellent) but non Fiat garage
I was aiming to l fit it, but will the car require any updating of the electronic information or will it simply need me to re-input Date , time etc
I know nothing of modern electronics, so would it be better fitted by my garage?

Nope no programming; just swap them over. Date and time to be reset, only. Make sure its a stop/start replacement.

Fitting is a doddle and no programming needed (so long as it’s the original Fiat radio)… apart from setting the clock

(the handbook says you need to ‘reprogramme the boot release’, then explains that to do this you lock the car, then unlock it… so it’s hardly a complex process )

ps It will reset the service indicator as well. unimportant but you wont get the service due warning on time.

Great prices. Halfords is c 235 for the 5 year warranty. They do price match so I take printouts and make them do it. lol It willl hurt them matching Taynas prices! lol

I’ve bought batteries from Tayna and they are a great deal cheaper. For a Volvo we had, ECP wanted nearly four times as much for an identical battery!

I don’t recall the service interval being reset, but it did reset the trip computer info in my 4x4
