Please enlighten me Dave,
Do I strip the engine down in situ, or can I do both jobs with all the engine in place?
jack/ block of wood under sump for g-box off, easiest with a trolley jack under bell housing in my experience
you'll need to remove the underslung engine mount( back- onto floorpan),
leave that off after clutch job to improve access for sump pan,
@£30 off ebay for a new pan,
You'll need the proper silicone sealant ( as a gasket),
depending on state of exhaust, you can either drop the EX . manifold..OR,
break at rear of engine ( flexi), and lever front pipe down a tad to wriggle the sump pan out. - I removed the oil pump strainer for more space doing this - worked o.k.........., as I was sold JUNK sealant.:bang: had to take pan off 3 times
beware ..!! - you'll be amazed how much oil drips down from the engine internals with the sump off :yuck:
3 wrecked tea-shirts
BUT well worth doing , and will save you @ £350 for the 2 jobs compared to a garage
