Have just purchased a JBL GTO-75.4 amp, JBL GT4-10 sub and a Kenwood KDC-W5031 HU, and i'd like a new pair of components too to hook up to amp, as well as the sub, and have thought of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alpine-SPS-17...828643197QQcategoryZ18800QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Is it ok value for money? Is it a good item? Will it go well with the things I've already purchased? It's not long till it ends, so if it's fine, will just get this, so please reply quick if you can with your views before auction ends!
Thanx :)
(am also open for suggestions up to and no more than £75, if you have any!)

By the way...do you think the RMS figures will be okay-will the speakers handle the amp, as they're only 50W and amp is letting out 104W?

That was my concern :)

Looked everywhere for review on the Vibe but not much info about. Says somewhere that it can act as component and co-axial, tweeter screws out of cone apparantly. Not sure about which to choose but the Vibe have a greater RMS (90)? so perhaps proceed with caution.

Do these Vibes come with crossovers?

**BUMP**

Have decided to forget Vibes-bit of a gamble. But all i need to know now is if the 104W RMS amp will or will not blow these alpines which are 50W RMS?

I would reckon that they wouldn't last very long at full gain - maybe turning the amp gain down would be OK but TBH I would try to find some higher power speakers

have a look at powerbass components, well worth the money. Don't worry about amp and speaker ratings, you just need to set up properly so the amp doesn't send a clipped signal to the speakers. I had 2x Genesis monoblocks approx 900w at 4 ohm running a dynaudio comp set with out any problems

Remember also that JBLs 104w rms is at the magical (mythical?) 14.4v which is almost never seen in a car.

I didn't notice it was quoted at 14.4V

Speakers can generally take a bit more than their rated RMS, so long as the signal being sent to them is clean (ie, no distortion).

Remember also that JBLs 104w rms is at the magical (mythical?) 14.4v which is almost never seen in a car. Just be careful with the gains.

I'm sorry, i don't understand the significance of the 14.4V
So you're saying here that the 104w rms might not really be 104...but maybe, or more likely, a figure less than this? If this is the case, i assume having the 50w rms speakers should be okay?
If not, and it IS 104w, i saw these: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/1204.html
was assured the rms is accurate, so do youse think it's best to just go with these...and see how it goes?(im aching to get a set!! :( )

Some manufacturers quote their amps power ratings at 14.4 volts, which technically is what the alternator will give out. In reality though, the most you'll get is about 13.8v and if the car isn't running, 12v (obviously!).

As an example, my old Alpine V12 amp gave 55w rms @ 14.4, but only 30 @ 12.

Some (usually more expensive) amps are regulated and will give the same output between a given voltage, my new amps are regulated between 11 and 16v.

Those Inifinty speakers will do the job fine.

Yeah I'd have to agree with that. 90W RMS would be fine :)
