Need a new key

Hey I have just purchased my second punto grande multijet, after my first one was written off by someone who decided it would be a good idea to do an illegal U turn straight into my car ?.
Anyway, wondered if anyone could help. All I have is a basic key with this one, no elec key fob. If I purchased a second hand one from eBay, how would I get the transponder chip etc, and would I be able to do this and programme it? Help? Thank you!!

I've not found anyone capable of doing a fob - you can get standard key copies but that's all.

There are 2 forum traders who do this service.

Yes you can get a fob rebuilt and reprogrammed to your car..

But of course that will cost almost as much as the amount you negotiated off the cars asking price.
