Hi Everyone, this is my first post so I'm not sure if it's in the correct section of the forum...
Basically mine and my girlfriends car has only done 17k miles, and drives like new but gets stuck in reverse.
I tried to reverse off a drive once and it was really stiff getting into reverse gear and made a loud bang noise from the engine area. Ever since this 1 in 50ish times the car will get stuck going in and/or out of reverse gear!!! The car selects all other gears fine, and the biting point is normal. There is no noise coming from engine or clutch.
I have already tried
- Turning engine off and taking foot off clutch, but this doesn't work (meaning its not clutch I guess?!).
- Taking the thing off around gear stick but nothing obvious getting stuck
- Looking for broken gear likage, but not sure what to look for tbh.
I would really appreciate any help on what to look for or ideas on what it is. The garage had the car for 2 days and didn't find anything because it's "so tempermental".
