Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto 5 Door SPORTING TO BE!!

hey guys and girls, i never really had the time to make a members motors post (well i did but it didnt work properly!)
Ok heres my punto when i got it 2 years ago
standard2.jpg

i bought it for £500 off my dads mate who said he needed a cheaper car for his son, Its a 1.2 16V engine 5 Speed gearbox wish 55k on the clock wish FSH and new clutch, coilpack and HT leads soo WIN! lol BUT it looks too old aged month later the headgasket goes!
3 days later i get another engine out of a bravo in the scrappy with 34k on the clock :)
Me being 18 i will obviously make it better!
1st thing to do (you ALL will disagree!) Lexarse lights!

now looking like a chav my next move was to remove the wheeltrims and paint them so i did and found a mate of mine that had a set of sporting skirts for sale THE SAME COLOUR!!!!!:slayer: lol

with the outside looking.......different i then tackled the inside so changed the colour of the dials and heater controls (the dash display is now blue, sorry this is an old pic!

Then i fit a sony xplod subwoofer 15'' with 2 300W 6x9's

At this time my mate smashed my gearbox by wheelspinning it and yanking the handbrake!
Luckily his bro just crashed his 8v on the snow last year so he gave me his gearbox lol

then i bought a set of 50mm Eibatch springs and Blisten Shocks! I managed to talk to a mate at the local pub saying his mate has a set of active sport alloys for sale and are powercoated in black for £120 inc good tyres so i bought them and painted the drums black and the calipers yellow lol(y)

Next i put a Air filter on and moved it out of the way of the radiator :D

My oil breather was split anyway so i used some blue pipe and cut a hole into the intake pipe :) this made the car sound very throaty! i like it alot!!!

a month later i decided to tint my lexarse lights and put on a powerflow cat back exhaust system! ive got to say they have made a HUGE improvement on how the car looks and drives!

Okay! quick update! i bought another bare 16v 1.2 engine with 49k miles for £50
sooooo today i woke up started stripping the engine down for a rebuild

i bought this engine cuz my punto is my only means of transport apart from public ewww lol
been busy with a tooth brush and 5 litre can of engine degreaser (gunk)
im using very high temp paint for exhaust manifolds for the engine block.

before after a light clean (loose dirt clean)

after i cleaned it properly with a brush and cleaner i masked off the pulleys and the seal for the sump then sprayed the block red!
(the overspray on the conrods and crankshaft cleaned off)

haha theres my Triumph Tr8 in the back (y)

Your as bad as M20b25 (see he's numerous vehicles) thats dedication out in all weathers... Possibly a competion to see who's the worst/best petrol head...

im suprised nobody commented on the exhaust lol also i have just bought a brand new oil sump for this engine, wasnt cheap but it'll look good and last long

also why does it look like my thread's gone to a stand still? lol

Cos u havnt mentioned the word "turbooooo" yet haha

Looking **** hot the engine mate like it :D

haha i dont think these engines like turbos that well lol

Thanks mate i really like it, ive just put new gaskets and seals on the engine also, i was going to change the shells for the crankshaft but they looked like they are new anyway so i left them.
I might spray the alternator in high temp silver and that would be it lol (make ancilaries look new)

first time ive looked through this thread, i had a 5 door in the same color, was a nice car, part ex'd it for the grande

on another note, i recognize almost every location on your photos, not often you see middlesbrough on here, is it actually the boro your from or nearby?, im based in billingham (y)

(the overspray on the conrods and crankshaft cleaned off)

im pleased to read that
you do need to be careful having an engine in your garden open to the elements though
i know i did it with old fords but they were made of granite:D
