Panda My new ride.

this panda is so cool.

Makes me want to spend lots of money on mine.

Do the Konis make a massive difference to the ride? are they less harsh? i was looking at a set that comes with H & R springs for about 400 quid

Here is my little white Panda 100hp, I bought it in august 2013 after owning a string of golf gti's.. i really wanted to find something that felt and drove like a mk1 golf but with creature comforts and reliability and had never owned a Fiat before.
My brother suggested i have a look at 100hp's and as soon as i read a few reviews and looked through photo's i just new i had to have one and a white one!.. it had 42000 miles and only two previous owners when i bought it and it came with two folders full of service history from brand new including the original sales invoice that shows the buyer traded in an electroclash grey 100hp for this one, it already had Koni shocks and Eibach springs when i bought it and all I've done is replace things like tyres/brake pads etc and service it.
Almost two years on and its now on 66000 miles and regularly does 200 miles a week with no problems whatsoever, its been totally reliable and so much fun to drive and own that i really can't see me ever selling it.
There are many cars that are revered as future classics or truly great cars but i genuinely believe that the 100hp is a car that will be sought after more and more in years to come.... i love it

To be honest just to keep enjoying it, I like to drive it hard but its maintained regardless of cost and to keep championing the 100hp cause.

Now that the weather is improving it should be much easier to enjoy driving and to work on the car (y)

It'd be great to see some recent photos, I've always loved the look of white ones

When we get some decent weather i'll break out the camera and get some nice arty shots

.. the one at the bottom of the page was taken last Christmas when it was filthy..

Nothing new to report here, my little 100hp continues to rack up the miles running like clockwork and the only issue I have at the moment is a dislodged rear bumpstop that needs removing although for the time being I've cable tied it to the spring to stop it rattling.

I have been seriously considering a T-Jet transplant at some time in the near future but only if it can be totally reversible and have everything working as it should (air-con etc) but the engine/box and the car in general is such a peach to drive every day that I don't want to spoil it so I may and I may not... almost two years and twenty thousand miles since I bought it and I love it more every day.

If the conversion is simple, reversible and doesn't cost a fortune I see the attraction but after test driving a 500 Abarth with 135bhp there is not a lot between them, OK it will make overtaking a lot easier but it looses the reviness of the 100HP engine.

I realised the other day that I actually now drive around with Sport mode off.

However......it means that when I turn it on....the difference really is noticeable!

So I seem to leave Sport mode for when im 'on a mission' :D

MC that's what I do, always have, it's like having an amp which only goes to ten.... See "This is Spinal Tap" for more details kids LOL!

I'm sure I recently read of someone doing a T-jet transplant to their Panda.
It would be amazing to see/drive! I imagine it'll be rather costly though...

Well its basically the same engine as the 100hp but with strengthened internals and a different compression ratio,
the turbo sits in front of the engine and I've done a few measurement to see if it'll fit with out moving the
radiator and it will, surprisingly the biggest issue is cost as decent complete t-jets are not all that cheap and it might mean having to use the 5 speed box as the 6 speed isn't strong enough.

Its something I'm looking at together with a few other options but I don't have bottomless pockets and I don't want to ruin the car.
