Still loads to do yet but what you think
some one should tell you this isnt a slate the car forum, posting your opion once is plenty enough![]()
It's an outrage and a scandal. That's what's wrong with the world today. The only way to deal with this sort of thing is cover the road with 12" high speed humps, introduce 20 mph speed limits everywhere, except Motorways when it would be 30; raise the minimum driving age to 45 and stop people having fun in their cars. That ought to do it. Oh, and put them all in the Army, do 'em a world of good. I bet he's the sort who wears a hoodie. Young people today, not like they were in my day, we had real young people then.Still loads to do yet but what you think
I can never get my head around the philosophy of making a car look 'mean', 'aggressive', 'fast' or whatever when under the bonnet is a bog standard 1.2.
Wibble
Well, for what it's worth my opinions are:
Firstly yes, the car looks 'different'. But how different? Well, it's 'different' compared to an unmodified car of course. But if you were to take all the stereotypical mods that are found in a copy of Max Power/ Fast Car etc. and stick them on an average 10 year old hatchback this is what you'd end up with. It's almost like a formula that everyone wanting to mod their car follows.
Secondly, it looks a bit of a shed at the moment. It would look 'better' once the bumpers are painted to match the body, whereas currently it looks like a unfinished Chav car that you see the great unwashed driving around in on a council estate near you.
Thirdly, it appears to be all show and no go. I admit to being a big fan of the opposite - street sleepers - where all the mods are under the skin and you make a car perform far better than it looks. But personally I can never get my head around the philosophy of making a car look 'mean', 'aggressive', 'fast' or whatever when under the bonnet is a bog standard 1.2. Plus there is so much tacked on kit/ ICE etc. the extra weight makes peformance worse than a standard car!
And really it's not that different at all as all the mods are very common amongst the modified car world...
we all only allowed to do 70mph on a motor way, so why pay 3 times as much in fuel to do it![]()
Someone should tell this guy this section is for members motors, not members sheds![]()
This is a perennial problem. Eee! When I wer nowt but a lad, the number of 1.3 Capris/1.1 Escorts/1.3 Vivas that were made to look like 3.0/RS1600s/Magnums were incredible, simply because young drivers couldn't afford to buy, run and insure the real thing. That doesn't even begin to take into acount the number of 1.3 Sunbeams painted black with silver stripes. I was lucky as I was able to afford a Chevette HS2300, but even then I didn't tell the insurance co. about the engine mods I had done. Serves me right when the insurance co. in question would only pay for a standard car after it was written off by a truck.Thirdly, it appears to be all show and no go. (to the section mod)think it may be a good idea to delete thos BIG, LONG comments from those two. its ruining the thread.
i kinda like the car to be honest. it probably isnt something i would choose to do personally. but i respect him for doing so. its a bold move to modify cars to that extreme. and as many would say it sometimes doesnt pay off. but as we can clearly see the owner is extremely happy with his car. and i do love the boot build. keep up the good work mate and i hope to see the finished product in the future.![]()
