my lowering options help needed

after research and help from sheario my choices are:

fk adjustable coilovers £400 ish

jamex springs 40/50mm drop on bilstien gas struts £250

jamex 40/50mm springs £69

im on a budgetish so advice on this i.e. what is sufficient not to ott

does anyone know if their springs dislocated on a 50mm drop when jacked up on standard shocks?

pics of different drop heights would be appriciated to.

have you ever driven a car,that has been dropped 50+ mm? not very nice, very bumpy and unforgiven when things go paershaped on a wet slipery road, and you better have a good cd head unit cause if not it jumps all the time.

30 mm is a good happy medium Eibach are a very good of springs, would do the job niecly and some KYB gas shockers.

Im sure Ash was selling a set a while back already loaded onto the shocks with new top plates,dont know if there still avalible though

As Scotty said, that low can be a pain as you have to be very aware of what is going on with the road, the HGT is dropped 55mm and i live on a nasty unmade road = 5 mph max up and down to stop me damaging anything and a very windy route up and down to avoid the pot holes etc.. just ask Ash how bad my road is!

if you really want to deck it do it properly with the FK'sshocks and srpings to match, esp that low are a must.

on the flip side, my Spax sus is up for grabs - 25mm drop so not much, does make a differance visually mind, but the handeling is much much better! quite stiff, but having Ash comment on how planted the arse was on Patch can only be a good thing, and Tommy will testify how well she handled too.. asking for £100 for it, front shocks with springs already on, so just a swap over job

i will vouch for how bad andy's road was! we didnt even realise it was a road!!

you can also vouch to the ride quality a 50mm dropped car on gas shocks is ... makes you wanna take the golf on a long trip.... and short trips too lol
