Seicento My Little Red Sei...

Introduction

Well this is my pretty much standard Red(ish) Seicento...

I've had it since September last year, was at 71,000 miles and we're now up to 78,000 and now going stronger than ever :)

I haven't done much yet, mainly due to my insurance being so high since I'm 18.

Had an oil change & an ITG Foam Filter. Also got a new clutch and rear wheel bearings along with a new handbrake cable.

And of course I had to fit Abarth centre caps and black/red floor mats ;)

I've got some drilled discs and new OMP Sport pads to go on sometime soon.

(Sorry about the picture quality, I used my phone)

Right, I got off work a little early today and went down to Barretts Car and Van near Beccles and get myself some Abarth Alloys :D

Unfortunately the car they came off had already been stripped of other schumacher goodies and the custom s/s exhaust was gone too :(

The alloys themselves aren't in great condition, all four have been curbed alot and have a couple of little scrapes on them. Also the rear tyres are 185/55 compared to the 175/50s on the front. It took me a whole bottle of Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner to get them looking clean and a little while pumping up the tyres

They look good from a distance (with my phone) though:

However the Sonars on the front have plenty of tread and grip much more than my 13"s, so now I can corner faster and brake harder :slayer: Oh and I can now drive flat-out as these wheels aren't buckled!!

Overall: Drives 1000x better and it's quieter and more comfortable at speed - apart from it still wanting to go left, but fixing anything is out of my budget this month, I'm saving for fuel to get me to Stanford Hall :D

866 mate but what the seller failed to mention is that one of the lobes has been what looks like filed down flat, so ben will be on the look out for another one if anyone has one going cheap, I still think you shpuld sort your induction and exhaust first though benjaaaamin

As Lecook said the seller chose not to mention that the camshaft is knackered and certainly doesn't accept refunds. So that's £55.00 down the drain :bang:

After a quick look on his profile it appears he bought it on the 3rd June (for his Punto) then started selling it on the 5th so he clearly knows that it's ****ed.

So many thanks for this 'good condition' 866 camshaft Andyclarke :

And for anyone else considering buying anything from this knuckle dragging imbesile, DON'T.

Well after a nice long drive out this evening I can confirm the front shocks are totally shagged, the front of the car is bouncing all over the place. Hopefully I will get it sorted soon after Stanford.

I will be giving it a good clean up tomorrow inside and out, especially after having one of my mates spill beer in it  I think I shocked him by how angry I got lol

A long update since it's been a while....

The Monroe shocks went on a little while ago with many thanks to Lecook as usual (y) The handling is now better than ever but still not stiff enough for my liking although it rides very well now :slayer:

However in general the car isn't faring to well after our encounter with a drunk cyclist

This resulted in my second new radiator in a few months, the bumper has split right through and there's a lovely dent in the bonnet now, which has also bent a little :( I will get it fixed, albeit slowly...

Part of the bracket for the headlight also made it's departure from the car too but that's now sorted

I also got myself an spi bumper (I think I might prefer it over mpi style now), I mainly got it for the fog lights and splitter on it but after buying the new indicators and getting mine off, breaking some seized fixings on the way, I found out it won't quite fit, so I had the joy of bodging mine back on :(
For a start the fog light on the drivers side was blocked by the radiator and a section needs to be cut from the bottom of the bumper where it was also fouling the radiator. Even if I did take the lights out it looks crap as they have been cut into the bumper so for the moment I'm thinking about fitting the fog lights and possibly splitter to my current bumper

A few weeks ago I fitted a new steering wheel (after alot of faffing about with the airbag) and all was promising until I realised the boss was simply too big making it far to high up to be comfortable or safe, so unfortunately it had to come straight back off again, looked good though

The 866 camshaft is still waiting to be fitted and it will probably be some time however I am just waiting for a 40mm TB to arrive and hopefully it will be in time for the sprint I'm going to at Curborough on Wednesday 21st :slayer:

Next up will have to be some new tires, the rears are so tall if I corner hard left it rubs on the plastic arch  The rear wiper is also on the verge of being dead, it's so slow it's painful so a de-wiper may be in order soon...
