my car doesnt seem to like mornings

when i start my car first thing in a morning theres a ticking niose coming from under the bonnet, the noise seems to settle down after a about five minutes but still im getting quite concerned!!

can anyone tell me what this is??

yeah mine does the same, its been to fiat a few times but they've always said its fine, as long as it DOES go away after 5 minutes i think it's ok.

what reg, engine size etc is yours?

Yes.

It's the Fiat time bomb. What happens is this......

At first, there's a few irritating faults, then as time goes by, the faults get worse, bigger and more frequent.

You then get pissed off with the car and sell it.

its the 1.8 hlx on an N plate, my local garage seem to think it may be the tapets

Its the engine being cold, metal expands as it warms up closing the gaps.

It should be really noisy when it first starts then quieten down after a few seconds and then finally go totally quiet when its warmed up.

Ignore RR, he is just sore that he now drives a Honda

Well Said I have problems with mine and they even offered to give me a more expensive car on the same price plan but i said i like the car and wouldn't change it for the world RR obviously you don't share the bravo love

Yep, I've got exactly the same problem. Sounds like there's a tin can inside the engine, but eventually goes (2-3 minutes)...

Forgot what I was gonna add to this now..

GRR I hate it when that happens.

OH yeah. Cold mornings my car won't start at all.

Think the battery is totally dead now as the car just doesn't wanna turn over at all.

Had to push and jump start it the other morning in the snow, oh the fun! New battery tomorrow.
