fitting my Sporting steering wheel today :3 came with fed-ed earlier, so i've just disconnected my battery

have you got the socket to remove the nut? most socket sets only go up to 24

my draper and snap-on sets only go to 24

got it fitted nah, i don't have the right size socket but I'm family friends of W&F motors in widnes so i just asked them to lend me the tools for 10minutes looks so much better tbh

your supposed to fit a new nut when you take it off, iv had mine off twice and still using the same nut... just thought id mention it bit late now i suppose!!

yeah its not as thick as the standard wheels either so it feels nicer :3

its because the thread can get damaged, same with wheel nuts, supposed to change em after 5 times

can see why with the steering wheel nut because the thread is not that deep, but i think every time is over the top

oh oh! almost forgot, you know when you changed your center handbrake cover along with the console from the hgt, did you buy a new gear gator? or did you DIY on the original one?

new gator mate, came with what i bought (console/ handbrake & gear surround/ knob/ gaitor)

unlucky can you not take the material away from the plastic, fold it in on its self to give a clean folded edge then tack/glue it down as a temporary measure?

you never know, if you get it looking ok you might be able to leave it

thats what i've done at the moment, i've streched the bottom of the gaiter around a bigger plastic boot at the bottom, its tidy, and un-noticeable in neutral just when its in 1st & 5th that it leans forwards haha

i struggled to get mine off on my own but got someone to help put it back

sorting the brakes out tomorrow!! one of the rubber hoses burst when i was coming off the motorway and my brakes failed... heading towards traffic at speed, was VERY lucky!!! i didnt manage to stop, just the lights changed to green and the cars in front drove on... i got to the roundabout with my handbrake still up doing about 25/30!!!!
