Hello fellow Multipla owners,

I own a Fiat Multipla 105 JTD(98 version) and I have the following problem.
2 weeks ago my Mullie started to accelerate by itself, so I took my foot off the acceleration pedal but it kept on going, when i parked the car and turned the engine off and on again it started to make high revs by itself, without me touching the acceleration pedal. But the next day everything fine again. Yesterday the problem returned again.
in the past i´ve had some powerloss problems, especially when driving over bumpy roads(when this happened the injector light came on)
I brought it to the mecanic and they told me I had to change the alternator as it was making some noise, and this could cause the problem.
I told them to fully service it, and they did...... 900 eur!!(including front tire change, and stabilisation bars changed)
But now i´ve got this problem again. My mechanic said i have to change the acceleration sensor(300 eur) but when i asked him if changing this device he could guarantee me the problem would go away... he said no.....

Any ideas anyone, or similar problems?
I don´t know anything about car mechanics, so i need some advise PLEASE!!

Thank you very much.

Koen

I do not understand anything from cars mechanics (so please don't laugh), but have the most stupid guess - did you check if your acceleration pedal stucks at some position?
maybe it is possible if it does not return after you press it the revs to be high

Really think you need to pay either a fiat dealer or a specialist to have the cars ecu read and checked for faults it would be guessing with a problem like that. Mechanic may well be right but if he is just guessing then i would not proceed.

Thanx, I think this is going to be the only solution. I´ll post again when I return from the fiat dealer.
Thank you for your reply.
