MK1 speaker replacement

Don't want to spend lots, and don't want to cut into the parcel shelf, but I'd like an opinion on the quality of these please as I've heard they're a straight swap...

It depends on how far you want to go TBH....................have you upgraded the head unit at all?

neither of them speakers are straight fit?

you would have to put the rears in the parcel shelf?

i have 8.7cm jbl fronts and 10cm alpine rears, and they sound great at low volumes but neither set go loud., they just distort, and thats on a 4x50 watt alpine.

The fronts posted will fit with an adaptor. The rears are too large for a straight swap.

It's got a Sony CDX-CA600 head unit which I don't think will need changing for a while, but the speakers are original and sound bl**dy awful!

I really didn't want to cut out the parcel shelf, supose buying a second one is the way to go?

i know that but thats more money on an adaptor why not just spend the extra money on a better set that straight fit.

you can get adaptors to fit 5" speakers if you wanted bigger speakers.

8.7 cm fusion front speakers fitted with bass blockers
5" rears fitted with adaptors and then il look now for some 5" speakers.

IMO the Punto has one of the strangest standard setups around. I don't know how much GT doorcards/speaker pods go for, but if you can do the following and stick to the budget, this is what I would do.....................

GT pods with the appropiately sized coaxials. Now I wouldn't have rear speakers, but this is just me, but if I had to have rear speakers, I would stick to the standard size of 10cm. Buying an adaptor would be better spent on buying better speakers IMO. Also not having to buy rear speakers means more cash to spend on the front ones

So the amount you have to spend on speakers would then obviously be less than £100, but you should get something suitable with the remaining cash.

actually, going by what chaos has said, get speaker pods and then 6.5" speakers

my chav mates corsa has that set up, sound good but i do find sitting in the back it requires rear speakers!

is your car 3 or 5 door?

There are several on there that would fit the bill................the Diamond Audios would be good, but they may be a touch over budget...............the JBLs would save you a bit of cash and should perform respectably...........the Kickers and Infinities may be worth a listen to as well

were ment to be persuading getting speaker pods now

just having them 8.7cm speakers will be **** tbh, no bass at all.
