Do Mk1 Fiat punto's have a Red key or were they issued over a certain age of mk1? I have three blue keys all fiat dealership issued ones and they are all from when the car was new. Its a 1996 car P reg. Also, im not lying, i had the battery off at the wkend over night whilst i chraged it and cleaned the base of the battery holder and it started 2nd time. None of the keys have been sprayed or a re a different shape. Any ideas????

Some of the early mk1's didnt have a red key, on the blue key is there a little circular symbol on the metallic part?

I know the remaining production of the mk1 had red keys, as my V reg mk1 is supposed to have one, although the previous owner couldnt find out (rental company), i made the mistake of buying a punto without one, and now it turns out i could need it as the speedo has packed up.

It is possible to have blue keys cut at Fiat for an extra cost, this is why you probably have 3 keys.

Have you noticed if there is a key symbol when turning the ignition, as this is the CODE system and may explain why?

You should have:
A CODE card, which is used for:
a) emergancy start-ups, if key cannot be read
b) and for ordering duplicate keys.

This is mine:
