Technical mk1 fiat punto 85 1.2 16v s reg, juddering , rattling,timing and hesitating problem

hi i m having a power loss problem (slightly hesitating) took it to a mechanic and was told it could be anything from a ignition coil and leads to ecu, he also told me to get the timing belt changed first as it was cracked and the tensioner needed replaced and could be part of the problem (rattling) but couldnt tell me for defo.

has anybody els had this problem or heard of anything like this.

hi i'v got an 85sx had wot sounds like the same prob as you, lost all it's power wen i put my foot down and judderd, changed the spark plugs, coil pack but it was the ht leads that fixed it 4 me

al try the ht leads did your engine make a slight rattlin noise when this happened (whilst revving).

i have a slight rattling noise and not a clue were its coming from sounds mid engine?

Hi, my engine fan is always coming on when the I turn on the engine. Also there is a slight juddering and rattling noise when revving as if its pulling back, my car is Fiat Punto 1.2 MIA 2002 reg. Please help.

The rattle is quite likelty the cam belt teeth coming off.
Ignore the mechanic (top bloke) and 10:1 you will have a bill for new valves and a head overhaul.
For goodness sake stop driving and get that belt changed.
