i have just got a brava 1.4 12valve sx s reg 1998 is it mk1 or mk2? thanks

Mark 1

You have one of the last of the line Mark 1 Bravas. The Mk2 had a 1.2 16 valve engine that replaced the 1.4

Paul

1.6 sx S reg

How do i tell im mine is mk 1 or mk 2?

its a 98 too. People say the interior plastic is better on the mk2 - well i think the trim in mne is pretty decent.

When i bought it i always considered it to be a mk 1 tho

To tell if it's a Mark 1 the easiest thing to do is look at the front grille. Like so:

Mark 2 Bravo:

hmmm

Despite mine not having fogs, so not looking like either of those, whats the difference between them :)

Re: hmmm

the grille is split on the mark 1 models, the mk2 models have a one piece black mesh bit.

Mk2 Question

What is the car in the second picture. It has a HGT front bumber and under spoiler but it has no washer jets for the lights? Did the HLX have this format or is a odd one.

Other than the lack of washers....thats my car....bloody awful colour isn't it!

Re: Mk2 Question

The car in the picture is an HGT, but it's from a Fiat brochure. Their brochures have never been entirely accurate.

As for the colour, i'm one of the mental (not normal) people that really like it. I have a Seicento in broom council jacket yellow. Think the Bravo looks quite good in it too.

Broom yellow

Well, I quite like it... It's the main reason I bought my 1.6 Mk2 GT (HLX). Makes a change after the black Sei I had for two years.
