Technical Misting up

Just noticed a problem with my Stilo i'd forgotten all about til cold damp weather arrived again! Do all Stilo's mist up on inside of windows as badly as mine does? Five minute wait with blower, air-con on etc outside work every night til clear enough to see out!
Checked round and not found any water leaks or wet carpets, must be worst car i've had for this, and had lots of cars over years!!!!!

I dunno about stilos but you have set the heater to re-circulate the air from the outside???

Doesn't it recirculate air inside, either way air-con dries out air to demist faster:idea:

Could also be a bunged up pollen filter. When was it last replaced?

Air recirculate on could be a problem (if left on). Aircon should remove the moisture very rapidly especially if on recirculate, unless of course it is short of gas. Most aircon places will test FOC. (Just had my Abarth regassed as nothing in there!!)

Cant say ive ever had a problem with the windows not demisting that fast, and im just relying on normal heater control as i dont have air con or any of that fancy stuff

I have never noticed it either - and my car is left on driveway all night! Get in car, drive off - never had any major mist issues....

possibly you have a blocked drainage hole at the scuttle[below windscreen].this time of year,falling leafs get in there and block the drain holes.

Should clear quickly, especially with air con. Might have a small heater leak (does steaming up get worse before it gets better ? Any smells of mustiness or antifreeze?)

Air con matrix drain might be broken or leaking (usually dumps water into passenger footwell) Do a search here for details as others have had this

Or perhaps heater stuck on recirculate? Although that shouldn't affect initial clearing from cold

Is it OK to use aircon and turn the knob to hottest setting? As in hot aircon air?

When they say use it once a month can that be on cold or hot settings?

Good question ... This is the first car I have had with aircon ... Hot or Cold ? Does it matter

Its ok to us the air-con with the heater on hot, some cars can have heat at feet/screen and cold to face, call it 'bi level'....all air-con does is cool/dry air before it enters heater, works in simular way to a fridge.

Should run air-con once a month to keep oil (its mixed in with refrigerant gas) circulating round compressor etc, help prevent any expensive problems later.

Use my air-con quite a lot, clears screen faster in winter and never noticed any increase in fuel consumption.....well not according to on board computer.

I'll be checking my scuttle drains this weekend...thanks for earlier post

my 1.2 with no aircon has become a right bugger for misting this year, just cleaned all the windows this morning and put on anti mist stuff on, seemed to have done the trick.

Recently my windscreen gets filthy quickly on the inside? whats all that about?
