Working on a 55 plate 1.2 Panda 4x4 and it starts but will not throttle easily. misfires etc and sometimes just ticjk over.

Fault code comes up as P0101 air seepage . As there is no Mac on this car would this be the MAP screwed to the throttle body. MES comes up with the code but this seems a butler. Strange that it affects the throttle and it backfires . Question is is there something else .Timing belt unknown?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Sudden onset? Will the car actually tick-over? Check for water in oil and vis-versa…
Could be cylinder head gasket. A friends 1.2 500 did exactly what you report, odd fault code but turned out to be HG failure

Oh poop , that might be the nail on the coffin then, yesterday noticed there was no water in the header after it arrived here rescued!
It has been filled since and there is a wetness around a the cooling pipe behind cat an pump . Maybe too late I guess it might have been overheated.

Fault

05
1.2 petrol
P0101

We normaly see this error on a blocked pipe on a turbo diesel

1.2
has a MAP screwed into the inlet manifold flyby wire it's on the left side and cable operated throttle bodies on the right side. As standing in front of the car

Backfire and misfire are different
A backfire (loud bang) is almost always a spark timing issue

Standing in front, right side of carb inlet.Definitely fly by. Backfire sorry.

Blue pipe in your photo is connected to evap solenoid , electrical connection for solenoid directly above blue pipe.
Evap solenoid push fit into manifold with some kind of clip

Test by disconnecting blue pipe and disconnecting electrical plug. Start engine if evap valve sucking air it's stuck open/ failed.

Is pipe not fuel delivery then? So what your saying is , if no fuel delivery there is no sucking ?
The BLUE pipe is not fuel .
The Blue pipe connects to the evap control canister at back of car.
The evap solenoid is part of the evaporative emmisions control system.
The evap solenoid should be closed/not passing air into manifold when it is not energised , hence suggestions to test

Sound , I'll let you know , tomorrow , thanks!

Electrical plug for evap solenoid valve is closet plug to the blue pipe
