Hey all,

Been looking at this forum since i got my Stilo some 5 months ago? Its an excellent source of resources. Ive been meaning to sign up awhile, already used many of the guides and would like to say thanks for all the help you've unknowingly given me ha and prob many others (y)

Anyway just a quick question, my middle brake light (top of back window) is out any1 have an experience fitting new bulb(s) in this particular light? Does'nt look easy to get at? I got a 3 door 1.2 16v 02 Stilo

much longer lasting and use less power but they still fail the same as any other bulb. With some strip leds you can replace individual bulbs, with others you have to replace the whole strip in one.

Either way, first task is check for power and earth at the light then you've checked the power, fuse and switch operation all in one go

Diodes (not bulbs) have a life expetancy of between 10,000-100,000hours, so not imposible for them to go, but extreamly unlikly.

They are light emitting (not emitted) diode bulbs. Google it:)
The light emitting diode is the electronics in middle of the bulb of clear or coloured plastic

I have two leds out in my Bravo upper brake light so they don't last as long as people think.

I believe that your Bravo (assuming its a similar set-up to the Brava's) doesn't use LED's, but small bulbs.

LED's and Bulbs are different bits of lighting equipment. I also believe that the small bulbs (2/3watt each) are changeable where as the LED normally are not.

I had this problem with my 05 mw and got it changed under warranty.
unfortunately the dealer had no idea how to do this despite the Fiat technical school being down the road . So they decided to remove the rear roof spoiler until they realized my tailgate has a split rear window. DOH!!!!!!!!

My third brake light seems to have gone weird, it used to be really bright but now its extremely dim when on. I replaced the original one over a year ago and it was pretty difficult getting to it. Was just wondering if there was any checks i could do first before having to remove the actual unit again?

The earth connection for the left rear light and center brake light is C30 in this diagram.

No... they are all shown as LHD in eLEARN. The centre brake light and left rear lights share the same earth point at the left rear of the car. The right rear lights earth point is symetricaly opposite at the right rear of the car.
