installed an alarm in a 2012 mj 1.3. bonnet and siren dont work (open the bonnet doesnt activate the alarm) and the siren doesnt sound. already checked the connections that are ok. any ideas?
This will probably not be the most helpful reply - but from my experience, anything made by Meta is rubbish. I have two of their alarms and the best thing I ever did with them was chuck them in the bin... The first one cut all the electrics (ignition, fuel pump...) in the rain whilst I was overtaking a lorry. The second one just refused to let anything work one morning for no apparent reason. Both were less than six months old...
To be honest, the Panda ECU doesn't tend to like alarms fitted to it. They can throw up a number of faults. I had a Toad which happily set off the alarm if I left the light switch on about an hour after I parked up!
thank you for your answers. the alarm actually works (lighs flashing, volumetric protection, boot opening ,inmobilizer). its just the siren that doesnt sound and the bonnet that doesnt activate the alarm
2 years later finally i have the time and the chance to solve the alarm. the wiring in the manual is ok. just in the fuse box on the engine compartement look for t03 under the relay and look for the wire green/black. the wire of the wfs inside the cabin is just under the steering wheel. Now the alarm works totally. no falses alarm.
i write this for anybody who is looking for information on this alarm
Fit any ordinary remote control alarm under the dash with a volumetric trigger that senses pressure change when a door opens. It wont need any connection to the doors or the car wiring.
It won't make much noise when the doors are shut but everyone ignores car alarms so no worries there.
However, the noise inside the cabin is so loud that nobody will be able to get near the door openings never mind steal the car. The boot wont be so protected so don't leave any valuables in the car. But that's never a good idea anyway.
