Hi,
according to this video, there should be Media Player -interface in TomTom?

Sorry, this is my first thread, so I cannot post URLs. Search for "TomTom, exclusive interview with Sandra Polato " in youtube.

But not according to the manual:-(

Would anyone who has Blue&Me TomTom for Fiat please enlighten me? Thanks!

I am getting my Punto Evo with B&M TomTom in a month...can't wait.

regards,
Harri (from Finland)

I have a punt evo with tomtom, but I don't have the media player inside the car menu, do you have to turn it on? Or is it a language issue maybe? I also saw this video and it was one of the reasons why I bought the tomtom system. I hope I am missing something, or doing something wrong.... Hope you can help me! Thnx!

You need to make sure your TomTom is paired with the Blue&Me system and you should see the car menu with the media player option in there. If you have done this and it isn't there then I'm not sure what the problem is. I would make sure I am up to the latest 5.5 version of the Blue&Me software.

I have updated to the latest (5.5) blue&me, and it has a connection, because I have the ecodrive and my phone(.....when it connects....) and I also can control my mediaplayer, but I don't have the option in my tomtom....

What kind of car/system do you have? And what kind of (although I believe there is only one...) thnx!

I have the Punto Evo Sporting with the TomTom that is specifically designed by TomTom and Fiat for Blue&Me. My software is also 5.5

Can you get the eco:drive and trip data displayed on your TomTom? That is also in the same menu as the media player and phone menu.

I have the punto Evo Multijet 1.3 (dynamic?) also updated the blue&me to 5.5 and I also have that tomtom specially for fiat.

In the car menu I see the "phone", "trip info", "ecodrive" but that is all! I don't get that "media player" icon..... very strange! I already called the dealer, but they want me to drive by on weekly days and than I have to work!

my dealer just called me and told me I need an extra adapter for that functionallity! is that true?

This is exactly what I am worried about
<the "phone", "trip info", "ecodrive" but that is all>

I have seen no mention about any adapter anywhere before, I hope ChubblyWarner will reply this...or someone.

My Punto should be in Finland already, I hope I will get in two weeks...

Harri

I was wondering if the media player appears in TomTom's car menu only if you have iPod and adapter for iPod? Maybe that was the adapter the dealer was talking about to Juanp?

ChubblyWarner and Juanp, do you have iPods or just memory sticks?

On my 'car' menu I have a media player option but everything (including the media player option) is labeled 'thread not found'. Where can I check which version of B&M is running, any other ideas what is causing this?
This happens with a stick and Ipod.

I tried googling and reading manuals, but there is no mention anywhere how to check the version of Blue&Me.

Maybe you should update to 5.5 and see if that helps?

PS. I should get my Punto Evo next week...

I was with my dealer last week and they sold the adapter they had for me :-(
But I am going there today for a new chance. They told me it is the iPhone adapter, and I have an iPhone, so than it should work and give me the media player option!
I'll try it with an USB stick in the adapter, but I also told him that I didn't liked that I also had to buy the adapter and that I am lucky for already having an iPhone....
I'll let you know!

the latest punto evo doesn't need an ipod adaptor, I would check before you buy one. The media player does come up with a USB stick in, if it doesn't something else is a miss. Try updating the Tomtom?

I have tried everything, even creating a playlist and exporting to usb. Today I got the iPhone adapter, but I still don't have the media player icon and function in the car menu.

Tomorrow I am going to update everything again and my dealer is going to contact fiat headquarters.

Thnx for the info!

Would you please keep us updated how did it go, Juan? Thanks!

PS. My Punto delivery is delayed and I am not getting it until January probably:mad:

That sucks!

My problem also still sucks.... I tried updating everything and I still don't have a media player icon/function in my car menu!

But I also don't see the set usb -> usb options in my mediaplayer menu (not the one accessed by the steering wheel and also not the one accessed by the radio or the car menu on the left!)

Can maybe someon tell me where it should be? I got the update from the blueandme.net website and after the update the voice does say, complete and take out the usb memory.

I finally got my Punto this week!

I successfully connected TomTom and my cell phone to Blue&Me, but when I put the USB stick with MP3s into the slot, Blue&Me gave error STRING_NOT_FOUND and the Media Player did not work in TomTom's Car Menu.

I took TomTom home and connected it to TomTom HOME and let it update maps AND Blue&Me software on TomTom. After that everything worked fine!

Have not yet tried if iPhone works without the adapter...

Hmm, so you have EcoDrive / Trip / Phone / Media Player when you go into Car Menu? (or somewhere else?)

I'm assuming this is Media Player on TomTom Screen is giving you a playlist of everything on your memory stick plugged into the usb port?

If so, i shall be poking my evo tomorrow!

Yes, those are found from Car Menu.
And yes, TomTom gives you the possibility to choose by genre, artist, song, etc.
Happy poking! :)

I managed to get ecodrive "recording" working after 2nd try. I did not know that you need to use the same USB-stick that you used for installing eco. Now I prepared my "MP3-stick" with eco, re-installed it and now it say "ECO USB IN" or something like that. Now I need to wait for 5 days for data:-(
