Hi fingers crossed some one help me not what I need right next to Christmas so upset but happy Christmas to you all any way here goes. my car is
Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet 2007 about 10 days ago I had to get rac to come out because of warning light came on I lost power went in to limp mode they did check with machine and said possible egr so I drove to garage and they sorted a new egr valve for me still problem limp mode they said mass air flow sensor so had to wate few days for that in mean time I had no power to car at all so new it was battery got new one that was sorted. Today the mass air flow sensor came and garage sorted for me today engine light was of seemed ok for a bout a mile light came on no limp mode but kind of jiggers a bit as if forward backword I did test my self and came back as mass airflow again garage is closed for x mas now and he not back till 4 jan I have a 200 mile trip to do end of next week I no the rac wont come out as they will say I have not fixed the problem i have been reading and wanted to hear what people on here think his it true that some times takes time for the computer to register the new part and calibrate the fuel and air and will go of after so many times

I blanked off EGR and stalling problem ( engine cut out) went away. Now doblo does not cut out but goes to stall upon acceleration after gear change(drives fine when on straight road and no low gear changes). Wondering if a blanking plate with holes in it would make a difference?

Sorry hope this somewhat relevant. These fiats seem to have problems with fuel and air and sensors relating. Too complicated these days- bloody nightmare.

Yeah been nightmare its no way as bad as it was no limp mode but no its not right I have spent more on repairs this week then I payed for the car

Not to sure dont no a lot about cars at all think they made a few quid out of me they did say egr valve was stuck open and was in bad shape took car out today and ran nice but engine light still on and ran codes it still says mass air flow but loads better then it was hope engine light just goes of it has been cleared since job was done but came back on after a hour

Have you checked the inlet manifold for carbon fouling?

My car seems to be driving ok at moment the odd kind of jigger forward i have no loss of power engine light still on but i do have lots of black smoke kint be good sign so after a new egr and mass air flow sensor i get lots black smoke wonder if they did not fit it right or a other problem to deal with

Where are you based?

Sounds like a little common sense assistance is in order..

This engine is in all the little vans that has.electric.etc companies use..

So finding a garage that actually know how to keep them running properly shouldnt be that hard.

The light being on..

Look at the MES register.. here on the forum

Several members in your area feature on it.

They should be able to give you an idea of what the car thinks is wrong in @5 minutes

Good luck.. and have a good Xmas
