Never had anything to do with them , but I understand they are very "picky" about their oil and if oil pressure poor or filter to the hydraulic operated cam side it gives the effect of no compression. This isn't the normal oil filter, but some kind of gauze in the cam side that gets restricted.
Others on Forum can better advise I am sure.
Basically as I understand it they are great when well regularly maintained with correct genuine parts, but if not then you can regret it.;)

Regards the dipstick, is it the brown plastic one? If so use the forums fantastic search feature and you’ll find plenty on it, there’s a few little mods you can do to make the level easier to read 🙂

LOW oil..?

Use kitchen towel pressed against the dipstick to gauge how much is in there😉

Plenty of variables fo poor running. :

Spark plugs, blocked oil strainer

Uniair unit itself

Oil quality..
