Hi, i currently own the limited edition 2014 fiat punto jet black 2. Its basically a punto evo but with a few extras. Anyway, its done 11000 miles and the engine light has been on twice, throwing up a code related to mass air flow.
The code reads "Mass air flow performance problem", please someone correct me if im wrong but as far as i know this punto doesn't have a mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Could this be related to the MAP sensor instead? Its a 1.4L turbo charged engine.
Please note the engine light first came on when i deactivated the cruise control and changed gear too early before the cruise had switched off properly. So i cleared the code and the car ran perfect for about 5 weeks. However this morning i were cleaning the interior and caught the cruise control without realising and started the car with it activated. when i finished my journey the engine light was on again. i cleared the code, gave the engine a rev but the engine light come back on?
Maybe i just need to be more careful with cruise control as i might just be tripping the ecu out but i still dont see how cruise control can affect mass air flow. If anyone can help that would be great!
Thanks in advance
