ive ordered one of those stickers from j00lz, but he hasnt got back to me...

but i aint painted a quater black lol i fitted a yellow wing and sprayed the bonnet black lol

next up s to paint the rear bumper black and the sides up to the crease along the side and then visually i will be happy lol

Personally, cinqs unfortunatley suffer from the dilema of when body parts are a different colour, people automatically presume that the owner got a spare bit from a scrappy after a bump. However, there are ways of making it look right. Photoshop is an awesome tool to see the outcome before hand.

im not a fan of mismatched pain as it makes the car look tatty, if it was all one colour it would be better

Yup each to thier own, I think there will be loads of people out there who think purple cinqs are yuk

However mismathced paint has been a popular trend of late, particulraly the bonnet, persoanly im not a fan, but have seen it done, and pulled off with excellent style, many many times.

We are on the same wave leanth as I know for a fact my car would look odd with a different coloured body part. But some can get away with it.

There is alot of difference between photoshop and real life ( especially my attrempts ) but it does give an over all idea.

I dont think the op is going for the rat look, the black bonnet trend origionated from the replacing of body pannels with carbon fibre ones. Which im sure origionated in the rally scene. The painting the bonnet black was to simulate the same effect, but then devoped as a trend of its own.

I may be completely wrong, if he is going rat, he needs to rough it up a bit!


However rat rods are sexy, they get me a bit more excited than any girl should really admit too. I know these pics are re-touched/fake, but what good model isnt

For too long the modified scene was taking its self too seriously ( me included - a spec of dirt on burple and id freak )

I do like light coloured wheels on a darker body , but black wheels always make me think steelies

The accidental steely effect is lessened with alloys with many thin spokes so the brakes show through, not a great idea if fitting 17s to a 1.2 though as it makes the brake discs look like 10p pieces in comparison

Still makes the tyre sidewalls look permanently grubby (slightly brown) in comparison, tyre shine stuff only lasts so long.

red and grey is the way forward tbh

and im going for black wheels on mine, but theyre going to be old mini 4 spoke revolution alloys, so they should look ok

and as for whitz's comment about "all show no go" i beg to differ my car (only a stock1242mpi with straight through and bike cans) is scaring alot of bigger cars in my area at the mo and with the turbo kit getting ever closer to being fitted it will be rather fast soon

no i am not going rat look as personally i do like it but only on a VAG, i'd say i'm going more hot rod/rally look as i have a very very special air intake planned that really i need to start lol

the whole mis-matched panel thing i had going on (yellow car silver wing and bonnet) was only as a quick fix after i had a bump and trashed the front lol over the coming weeks the look of the car will change alot so watch this space as its going to be very very different

a turbo kit came up cheap so i bought it this one (as said a few times before) is going to get turbo'd as i need to keep it on the road and reliable as i now live in the sticks and when i am financially more stable i will be buying a second cinq that will get a total rebuild and a 1242mpi (if i can find another) and that one will get the supercharger, half the reason i have put it on hold is its going to be way more expensive than i thought (with the custom crank) so NO i am not binning the idea just putting it on hold for a while

anyway whats a plimmer??????? be warned if its nasty we will fall out!!!!!!
