Just a quick straw poll to ask what size and brand tyres you use on your Marea - and what it handles like. I've just took delivery of a pair of Nankang 195/55R15 to replace the undersized Bridgestone Potenza on the rear. Hoping I don't kill the drive.

195/55r15 are expensive, looking at £300+ for a decent make set of 4. I swapped to 195/50r15, for Contis they were £25 each cheaper than 55 profile!

(dot) Pete - Continental ContiPremiumContact2 195/50r15 - damn fine tyre.

Just found out the wheels I've got on the Marea are 7J... Thought they were 5.5 max! Could take them upto 215/45R15 now as they're right on the limit on the 195s.

Just got 4 Avon ZZ3 for my stilo alloys on my Marea JTD - 205/45/16 and the ride quality is great, low noise, haven't tried the grip out, but i dont drive that fast anyway. £260 fitted inc valves, balancing and tracking etc etc

cant fault them for what i want from them(y)

cheers

Excellent wet weather and snow tyres, low noise, decent handling, stick like glue. A soft compound so don't last too long, expecting about 20k before I need to change them.

Summer:
195 55 R15 Michelin Pilot Primacy - good grip, low noise
I tried some Goodyear Hydragrip and found them very good in the wet, but noisy!!!!

Winter:
Dunlop Wintersport M3, which are amazing when the white stuff falls (as it does a lot in Munich)....

You can probably go to a 205 if you have 6J wheels. Might be slippery when wet.

For my Marea, I bought Falken ZE 512 tyres, 195/55/15V, all 4, £160 inc p&p, because they were at a discount price from www.blackcircles.com

I must say that I have only had them for 4 days so far, but they are just as good as my previous Goodyear Venturer's & Hydragrip's.
