Thank you to all the advice you have given me.

So since cleaning the VVT and map sensor. My MPG has gone down by so much, I was getting about 44, but now only getting 39.8 to 40.1 is this poor? And maybe causing another issue somewhere else?
Have you had it idling after doing your sensor cleaning? If you have that may have impacted your mpg temporarily. You could reset the mpg and then drive normally for a few days and see what it settles at.

How do I reset the mpg, just by clearing the trip data? To be honest my car has always had about 40mpg since owned the car, not sure if this is good or not, I travel 24 miles a day round trip.

Yes if you reset the trip data it resets the mpg average. I’m not sure what mpg you should be expecting because I have the twinair so mine won’t be the same as yours.

So 12 miles each way? And is that 12 miles pretty clear and free flowing or are you stopping at lights etc, held up by traffic? Those aspects will make a massive difference and assuming your drive is pretty typical in having a bit of stop-start traffic, a bit of more open stuff and a few roundabouts etc 40mpg seems absolutely fine.

The car will only just be warm at the end of each journey (takes about 10 miles of driving for a car to be fully warmed up as a rule of thumb) and during the warm up process cars tend to burn more fuel. A small petrol like you have is a great choice for that sort of use as they warm up quickly and don't suffer some of the dpf etc issues that diesels can.

Sounds to me like you've got the right car for your needs and it is behaving normally.

There are two trip counters, each with an indication of average consumption. You’ll see AcA (average consumption A) and AcB as you step through the trip options (by pressing the end of the wiper control. You could chose to reset AcB but leave AcA for comparison. (Press and hold the Trip button with AcB showing)

Note also the weather’s changed, and the clocks too. Cars are less economical in cooler weather, and using more electrical items (headlights and blower fan for example) will also reduce consumption
