NICE!

I failed all my A levels when I was 18, and was quite annoyed at myself for doing so.

I'm now 19 years old, 20 in May, and I'm on more than the average working person, so don't worry, there's still hope.

Looking forward to reading the guide Sven :)

i failed most of my a-levels, and the ones i passed were by the skin of my teeth and not worth much as a qualification! i mean general studies, what a waste of time! i passed business studies just, which is a bit better i suppose.

thing is im like Ian, im 20 now, 21 in september and have a career job, i worked in a warehouse for a bit then moved on. exams are helpfull but not the end of the world i found.

lookin forward to seeing the write ups Sven

Sounds like our scripts were wrote by the same person Andy, lol.

I started working at British Airways in their call centre's as a customer service agent, then got promoted 3 months later to Internet Executive (basically replying to narky customers over email. But that beats talking to them over the phone)

Reason for leaving the above was I moved from Widnes, Cheshire to Ilkeston, Derbyshire, which is where I'm currently living.

Now I'm an IT Manager of a company near Loughborough, which I thoroughly enjoy, and probably beats any sort of IT job I could get going through college, then uni, etc.

It just goes to show, it's being in the right place at the right time, or another saying...
It's not what you know, but it's who you know.

Out of interest, what do you Andy?

Apologies Sven, for hijacking thread!

Ian.

im a ships agent, which basically means im the owners representative when the ship is in port.

when i joined i was on the traffic side of the company, checking delivery notes and all that kind of boring stuff. after 3 monthhs aswell i got promoted as one of the senior guys was leaving. after a year and a month i have had a couple of payrises and we are negotiating another as i 'am proving my worth' apparently.

its not to bad a job, i am on call 24/7 but then again i dont spend all my day at a desk, which gets to me. if im out down a ship, all i do is talk, have a couple of ciggies, drink coffee and boss people about, great job for a 20 year old!

sorry Sven, but as Ian says, qualifications are helpfull, but not 100% necessary. best of luck to you though mate, hope all sorts itself out.

Thanks for the uplifting words, but studying is different in my country.
Im 25 and on the last year, so failing an exam isnt nothing new, but I still get angry.
