Quick technical question. My 2009 multi jet is showing an error & engine light for the maf sensor. The sensor looks new and is nice and clean etc. Wiring looks good. The egr is new too, both pattern parts. The jubilee clip was missing so we have replaced that and cleared the code, but it keeps coming back. Is there something we need to do to ‘tell’ the car it’s been fixed? Thanks

Ok, so to update:

A new MAF sensor was fitted, but the light re-appeared, further investigation revealed a faulty EGR and a leaky inlet manifold - both replaced, car tested by the mechanic and deemed fit with some Diesel Magic added to the tank for good measure.

Collected the car and the EML is on again, fault code P0101 (MAF sensor). I’ve cleared the code but I fear it’ll come back, car sounded like it was ‘hunting’ when cold too.

Losing patience with it now, is there some obvious thing I should be doing to keep the light out other than removing the bulb?

Thanks in advance.

Had a similar problem, turned out to be a hose loose. Can't remember which one or was, but I do remember I noticed it when the car was up on a ramp.

Ramp it, front nearside wheel remove. Plastic inner panel remove. Intercooler can then be seen behind bumper, check hoses and pipes going back to engine.

Thank you, hopefully getting it sorted tomorrow so I can enjoy the car finally.

Hi,

No it didn’t I’m afraid. All the pipes and hoses are fine. Cleared the fault code. Light came on after a few miles and the fault code is back. Back with my mechanic friend who is almost as sick of it as I am.
