If anyone is still interested i was driving across the city last night and realised i was being followed by another GP. The way it was sticking to me i figured the driver fancied a go so we had a few little blasts and it couldnt live with me at all. Eventually he pulled up beside me at some lights so i opened the window and spoke to him. He was a nice lad, i asked him whether it was the 1.4 Sporting and he said yes.....turbo. I couldnt believe it. He openly said to me that he was struggling and you could tell whilst we were driving. The lesson learnt here is that a modified M-Jet eats the T-jet for breakfast as standard. Most on here who are realistic would have accepted this anyway but there was still one or two who thought otherwise.
Well not anymore,, lol.
Rich
See how the old M-jet is doing when the HG, turbo and clutch goes in a couple of years time.
To revive this ever so fun thread,
I went out in a friends 57 plate T-jet last night. I was very impressed.
The t-jet has gone up in my estimations. Big time.
Bloody turncoat!!!!!!!!!
How was it impressive?
I'm still loyal to the cause!
The 0-60 figures given by fiat are definitely accurate and theres plenty of top end power which I thought would be the M-jets saving grace. I'd say identical performance, of course mapped performance the M-jet is still the winner.
This particular one has some lovely turbo chatter aswell.
Thats good to hear. The t-jet i test drove (all be it not that extensively) didnt feel to have that much power past 4000 rpm but im glad to hear you say that, hopefully mine will be of similar character. Dont see why it has to be an us and them type thing. Both are good cars, both have their strong and weak points and both look the dogs boll....

how can you be a petrol head driving a diesel.
This thread = :bang:
? the book says T-Jet is faster 0-60 and 0-100, but 10mph slower on top end, n i prefer the sound of the lil 1.4 Turbo engine n its little whistle and pop off sound to the diesel.
:worship: T-JET, how can you be a petrol head driving a diesel.
This thread = :bang:
From figures i have seen what you say is correct apart from 10mph slower.Ive got t-jet 121 and m-jet 124.
Yeah puntokris, i cant wait to see a remapped t-jet
Because maybe driving to derby and back from stoke everyday isn't feasable with a petrol.
So this is the first diesel i've owned and now this means my interest and experience in petrol cars is invalid??
Yes totaly invalid I say, With every diesel you should get a free tweed jacket, slippers and a pipe. Is you second car a rover by any chance
only joking.
T-Jet = :worship:
BUT a revved T -Jet sounds glorious & a revved M Jet sounds like a derv.
Plus you can't say your a diesel head
I dunno I have this stigma that Italian cars should be petrol powered and revved till the valves come out and dance for you.![]()
