General M-Jet / T-Jet argument thread !!

Petrol engines are slowly going extinct, most of the new r & d is going into diesel engines and the advancements are coming thick and fast.

Le mans and other races are now using diesel cars.

For pure technical performance diesels will win outright.

just stubborn gits like me keeping petrol's going:D

Do you think? Aren't diesels as developed as they're going to get afterall whats really happened, they've gone common rail, multivalve and turbo charged. Trouble I find with diesels is they're still a little agricultural, can't beat the smooth, revy power of a petrol. Diesel only exists for fuel economy really.

Diesel development is moving quicker than petrol development imo. It seems every week a manufacturer releases a more powerful diesel (or economical). Diesel doesn't just exist for fuel economy. It gives power, reliability, lower emmissions, high torque, great mpg, greater flexibilty, less wear and tear (less gear changes needed).

The M-Jet is one of the first production diesels to utilise VGT (variable geometry turbo).

They have only recently used diesels in motorsport, so theres much more development to come.

Diesels are going to get better and better.

I agree, Its petrol for me. With the ever rising use of Diesel we have the ever rising diesel prices now well above petrol. Im gonna predict small turbo petrol engines are the way of the future :), but dont quote me.

predict whatever you want/listen to the high reving 1.4 t-jet of only 120bhp i have a 1.9 8v m-jet with 170 bhp so do many others on this forum which would LEAVE those toy jets for dead.i dont frickin care it 130bhp standard its the remap that counts until you lot get 170 bhp under a t-jet bonnet the m-jet will allways be KING:worship::worship::worship:

Definitely.

No T-jet is going to be coming past me anytime soon, and by the time the t-jet lot sort their acts out, the m-jet lot will be faster still.

Trust me, the m-jet doesn't sound anywhere near as bad as you think with the right mods...

lol i was thinking to myself the other day of how long it would take for this thread to re-appear, and here it is :p.

Puntokris: Glad that you have been in the T-Jet now and seen how good and close on performance that it is to the M-Jet, Just need to convince all of these other M-Jet big heads to give it ago. You are all welcome to come for a drive with me. (y)

As i've been saying the performance is very similar. The same goes for the T-Jet big heads.

At least you realise the T-Jet is pretty much the same as the M-Jet.

Standard they are both very similar.

T-jet: get yourself to some meets etc this year, come down to red dot on 6th april and sort a map and gsr kit out ;)

i am moving the goal posts its the upgrade that makes the m-jet.aint interested in standard sportings sorry:rolleyes:

Agreed, there is no comparison for a remapped m-jet as far as the t-jet goes ;)

The t-jet lads should be sorting some mods out really to keep up. They can't even play the 'weight' card with me anymore as my m-jet doesn't weigh far off a t-jet at all now ;)

Sooo boring to here these M-Jet drivers preaching how much better there

mucky noisey diesels are soooo much faster than the T-jets, change the

record ffs its BORING. :bang:

There obviously feeling deficient in some way :D, maybe wishing they had

bought a T-jet, but to late I guess, Must be great to go buy an M-Jet then

have to spend money on it to keep up with us T-Jet driver's.

So lets see the M-jet needs a re-map to be as quick or a lil quicker than a

Tjet, ok, so then all the bull**** about how much faster your moded car is vs

a standard T-jet. Moded T-jet = tears for you m-jet care bears.

Its well documented that the T-jet can be pumped upto 180bhp with little

fuss, what can the M-jet manage without taking out a mortgage?

:) Ok that should fuel you m-jet owners into flaming a lil more for our

entertainment.

Lots of luv Phil J.

BIG KISS :slayer:I knew i could keep this argument going. Nice 1 back.

Hahaha...stop fantasising about BHP...you'll never see more than 150 with any mods, try your induction kit and manifold and zorst and remap...you'll still be well shy of my 170 bhp!!

Noddy size engine and turbo, period....;)
