General M-Jet / T-Jet argument thread !!

I wish I hadn't gone to the gym tonight, i've missd all the fun.

Lets get a few things straight shall we, standard t-jet vs standard m-jet there is no difference, only situation differences when out on the road.

It would take alot of work to get a t-jet to the same power as a remapped m-jet, but then again you have power to weight issues which means you wouldn't really necessarily need the t-jet to be 170bhp to give the m-jet a run.

Phil j - well done for covering up your lack of tuning knowledge with the 'i'm only trying to get a reaction' thing going on. Yes this argument is petty but at least try to get your facts right before you claim things on posts ;)

Anyway I hope to see a few t-jetters at Red dot racing on 6th april to see how my m-jet sounds and goes.

I think things are really going to get good when the abarth comes out. Can't wait to argue with those guys.

I bet you £50 I could win you in any race with a 150T-jet Bravo ;). Unfortunately I don't own one :bang:.

I'll let you know for sure...I'm taking a Bravo Tjet 150 out on Saturday morning for a test drive...

Same sales guy that sold me the GPS...he said "you're not going to make me turn white again!" hahaha...You bet!!!!!!!!!!!! (y)

And another one and another one and another one takes the bait, muwahahaaaaaa :D Id read my post again but this time all of it m8, its pretty obvious im lookin for a reaction, well obviouse to most :yum:

As i've been saying the performance is very similar. The same goes for the T-Jet big heads.

At least you realise the T-Jet is pretty much the same as the M-Jet.

I have never seriously said the M-Jet is better, i just joke about it. :p

Standard they are both very similar.

T-jet: get yourself to some meets etc this year, come down to red dot on 6th april and sort a map and gsr kit out ;)

I am planning on coming along to that one, but trying to get the money for the re-map.

i am moving the goal posts its the upgrade that makes the m-jet.aint interested in standard sportings sorry:rolleyes:

So how can you compare a re-mapped M-Jet to a T-Jet?

Loving this thread, loads of banter (y)

Oh and that picture is hilarious :ROFLMAO:

Phil I appreciate your sense of humour. Just make sure your posts are accurate thats all I ask ;)

If Phil posts accurately there is no banter or argument, the Toy jet gets squashed everytime...He's in denial, he bought the wrong car! Hahaha

He can't handle the truth Kris...there's nothing a GPS Tjet owner can do to keep up with us! :D

I wasted an Orange Tjet down the EP tonight...was that you T-jet 120? If so pull the **** over sooner next time, my tea was going cold!!!! hahaha;)

I don't think I know it is :). Not to mention these seem to be coming out the factory with 160bhp, They also have sportier gear ratios, lighter engine and better handling.

Only thing is you would be getting 40mpg canning it when the T-jet would be getting 20mpg (at best).

i had a bravo 150 t-jet sport with 18"s on it for a whole afternoon last summer approx 6 hours of fun.but i will say this 1 thing it aint is faster than remapped m-jet no way its a lovely car quality fiat but also it dont handle better either the body roll was dreadfull.(n)

LOL

Like I've said there won't be a t-jet coming past me anytime soon!

Saw my mate again tonight he was in his t-jet, had a play with him (in a bmw 520) The t-jet lacks alot of high end power but we've had it off the clock so the 121mph top speed is correct (bearing in mind % loss on the speedo)

I've just spent the last hour buzzing around in a Bravo Tjet 150, no Fiat Co Pilot on board so I gave it some proper beans and jassyo's right...

While the driving dynamics are good and it grips well, it does suffer with quite a bit of body roll. And, although it has snappy gear change and linear power delivery, it wouldn't live with a remapped GPS Mjet. :)

How can a car with 150 bhp be faster than a lighter car with more bhp and bags more torque:confused:

Guys you're losing it!!!!! I can't believe you're all wasting this typing and your time. Most of you have got really good advice and tips to share about your cars instead of this I'm sure(y)

A heated debate about (different) rivalling hot-hatches or sports cars would be different but the Grande Punto Sporting is, well, a Grande Punto Sporting. T-Jet, MJet or MJet remapped it will always be a budget branded hatchback that's probably been bought (engine choice included) by a discerning, style conscious buyer that should enjoy the car for what it can do for them and for what it is. I know I do and I understand that even after some tuning it's still doesn't constitute as a performance car.

The diesel vs petrol argument could be a viable one, but both really do have their pro's and cons. Petrol will always be 'the enthusiasts' power of choice but over recent years driving expectations and styles from the consumer have evolved. Economy is one thing which, traditionally, diesel has been favoured for but recently it's been recognised for it's 'effecient' and accessible driving benefits. Imagine a top selling console game or piece of software being described as user friendly and its exactly that.

If the members of this forum and their mates had a track day with the T/M-Jets to do some time trials there's a good chance that the the MJet would get better results overall because getting the power down would be easier. Get Lewis Hamilton to have a go and he'll push the T-Jet around quicker using professional driving skills that favour the characteristics of petrol power. (With not much fuel left in the tank though :))

So, with respect to performance choices drivers can get a buzz out of different sensations whether that's by being carried along by efficiency and ease or the thrill of technical timing and revs. Do they travel alot of miles?, do they live in a city centre? or have a range of B-Roads at their disposal? There is no such thing as one being better than the other. Can't we just enjoy the cars we chose and respect others as they were probably bought with personal requirements in mind and for good reason(y)

Have there been any comparisons done between the Tjet and Multijet (non remapped) GP's to get their performance figures, including in gear acceleration figures? And any such figures been published (on the web preferably)? It would be nice to know how the cars perform in real world tests.

Troy.

Anyone seen this weeks Autoexpress? Survey states most GP owners are dissatisfied with performance? Must have been completed by 1.2 owners! Its a good - ish survey, although I dont take everything they say as gospel. (for eaxample in 1st place is..........

The new Skoda Ocatvia!

GP isnt brilliant in the survey but its a good position overall, 71st / 100  but above some cars that might surprise you guys. Take a look at it see what you think.

GPS 1.9 MJets rule! :D (y)
